Alex’s Royal Grill is a family owned restaurant located in Troy, Michigan. We relocated our business here in March of 2009. Our former restaurant, was located at Mc Nichals and Greenfield, which is now owned by a family member, under the name Kings Royal Grill.
Our goal here, at Alex’s Royal Grill Family Restaurant, is to provide our customers with a friendly atmosphere, great services, and the best food in town.

Wow! What a wonderful breakfast experience. The coziest diner vibes accompanied with the friendliest service. We had the eggs Benedict and western scrambler – both of which were phenomenal. The kitchen cooked my eggs to perfection for the Benedict. Excited to make this a regular place for us. ❤️

I just had the worst gyro from this place. With a 4.6 rating I figured I was going to get really good food but I was extremely disappointed. The gyro meat was cut awkwardly with the outside being burned and the inside having the texture of an eraser. The lady at the counter had the audacity to tell me “but the meat is made here!” as if somehow that fact magically changes the garbage I just ate. The flavor was bland. The pita bread was hard. The fries, tomato, and onion was fine. I guess those things are too difficult to screw up. The drink was in a small cup with way too much ice and the waitress didn’t even bother asking if I needed a refill. If I had to guess what happened the cook is either brand new or they were so busy they tried cooking the food as quickly as possible (the place was mostly empty though). I recommend this place to anyone on a diet. You’ll lose you appetite soon enough.

Outstanding place to eat! We stopped there for breakfast before driving back home to Ohio. The friendliness of the staff was refreshing, Along with how clean this restaurant was! I haven’t seen a restaurant that clean in a long time. Highly recommend to stop and try this family restaurant because they will make you feel like part of their family!

My husband & son went there for breakfast while I was having cataract surgery nearby. They loved it! The food was fresh, hot & delicious. My husband’s mushroom & cheese omelet was huge, fluffy & full of yummy mushrooms, served with potatoes & toast. He brought half home which I finished! My son had the veggie omelet again full of veggies, huge, fluffy & delicious. It’s so nice to see you can still get your money’s worth somewhere today! They said the service was great & they even thanked my husband for stopping in to eat there. If it were closer to where we lived, it would be a weekly spot as we love having breakfast out on the weekend. But I’m having my other eye done in 2 weeks, so they will definitely be returning! Thank you for taking good care of my guys yesterday, Alex’s Royal Grill!

Right from when we stepped in, to the time we left we felt taken care of and treated warmly. Food is excellent, I rarely get eggs over medium done right, this place has got it down to an art. My wife had their special omelette with grilled onions and vegetables. Again the omelette was done just right, with perfect portions of vegetables and a side of potatoes. With sumptuous portion sizes and service with a smile, this is the place to go to start your day on a good note.

Alex’s is a solid place for a coney-style breakfast. What I mean by that is that the food quality is okay and is what you’d expect from a coney restaurant. However, the prices are a bit higher than a traditional coney and the quality isn’t up to par with the price. The place needs a revamp to succeed in the future.
