I was in Houston on a business trip and was looking for a good place to eat. So glad I found this restaurant.

Outstanding! We think this is one of the finest restaurants in Houston. It’s small, intimate, and cozy. After the pandemic downsizing, it’s now back up to nine tables, plus a few seats at the bar. What’s still great and unchanged here is the food and the service. Over the past 18 years we’ve had just about every dish they have ever offered, and I have posted several detailed reviews. A couple with whom we dine out several times a year, who are more expert gourmands than we will ever be assert that the Lexington Grille’s ordinary (and inexpensive) chicken dishes are all better than meals they have eaten in Michelin starred restaurants. Call a few days ahead and have them make potato soup (bisque) for you; they will. Try it! Better yet, call and ask them to fix something not on their regular menu. The owner works on site almost every night we’ve ever been there. Weeknights (and sometimes Saturday) are usually not crowded, but DO make reservations.

Truly a delightful evening last night at The Lexington Grill. This place has been here forever and honestly I’d forgotten about it and forgotten how great the food is. There is a full bar with just about anything you could want. The wine list isn’t extensive but it’s decent. I had the poblano soup which had just the right amount of kick to it and the crab cake. I wasn’t too hungry. The crab cake had no fillers other than some breadcrumbs. The finishing touch was the chocolate mousse cake. It was so light and had just the right amount of sweetness to it. The berries were a nice touch. It was a perfect evening. The clientele is a bit older and it’s not a hip scene. Great place to get to know someone or have some serious discussions over a great meal. Only drawback is the markup on the wine list. Stick with cocktails.

The Lexington Grille is one of Houston’s hidden gems. This place has some of the best food in the city. I always take my family here when they visit – My sister says it’s the best food she’s EVER had!

My favorites place to dine in Houston with perfect cocktails , delicious food and impeccable service. The restaurant is set in a tiny, romantic home where you can actually hold a conversation. Have never had a bad experience.

It was a weird experience. We weren’t given menus for quite awhile. It wasn’t until I said something to my coworker (we were chit-chatting so not in a rush) and the server overheard me did he bring menus. The server was nice but informed us of incorrect items. For instance, he told us the soups, I ordered one kind and my coworker ordered a different one. He brought us both the kind I ordered. I mentioned it and then he came back and said he was incorrect about the soups and it was something else. He said our dinner would come with spinach, but when it arrived it was green beans (which I like better), he would ask us if we’d like a refill of an incorrect drink, just odd stuff. I also don’t think I’ve ever spent $60 on a plate that didn’t include soup or salad.. we had to purchase the soup separately for $12. We ordered the veal chop specials – but they looked like pork. I asked the server if it was pork, he said yes – it’s a veal chop. My coworker and I were really confused but it still tasted good! Another man came by and asked us if we were alright (maybe the manager?) and I said I thought we were getting veal. He said it is veal, I’ll show you and walked away before we could say anything. He came back with a pork chop in a sealed package (like from the store) and a saran wrapped piece like ours and said see? and to us, they both looked like pork but oh well. We still liked it. It came with scalloped potatoes but it was about 2 bites worth. We had seen the prices before we went, but it wasn’t until we got the bill that we realized the prices were from 2 years ago and were about 1/2 of what they currently are. We both got the special, a cup of soup, and a soda and our bill was $145. A bit spendy, a bit odd, but an experience.

Consistently good food & service. Interestingly enough, this is the 1st time they ever gave us menus without being asked for them.

Food was good, service was good and just felt comfortable. Waitress was exceptionally good. In passing my girlfriend and I mentioned we were celebrating our 5th anniversary. We had no expectations but we were served a nice piece of cheesecake with a candle.
