Cooking is an art that brings happiness to the soul. Life was a struggle for children growing up in rural Jamaica, and most helped themselves by preparing food from the land to eat during the day. Country life in Jamaica often has “gatherings” to satisfy the cravings.

Oh My Goodness! This place is delicious bk in Orlando for a few days. After church, we stopped by this sweet spot! I had the goat, and friends had ox tails. The food was delicious! The goat was tender, rice wasn’t dry, cabbage was seasoned & my friend said the cornbread was like cake..so good. It was plenty, a little pricey but worth every penny. We sat outside..very good. If you have not discovered this sweet spot, then scroll downtown Sanford..it’s worth the stroll!

Hi, I am a Family Nurse Practitioner who works from home, so I do have time to cook, that’s my point. One day, I went to try this place out, then I went back again a second time because of the food and the service. They provided EXCELLENT Service based on my opinion!! The food is also very tasty and true to the Jamaican foods. I love it!! I highly recommend this place.

I recently visited Negril Spice Jamaican American Cuisine and I have to say, it was an outstanding experience. The food was top-notch and the service was excellent. The oxtail in particular was incredible, and I can confidently say it’s the best in town. The meat was tender, flavorful and cooked to perfection. Every bite was an explosion of rich, savory flavor that left me wanting more. The sides were also delicious, with the rice, plantains, and mac and cheese being a standout. The portion sizes were generous and the prices were very reasonable for the quality of the food. The owner is always friendly and welcoming, she remembered us from the first time we visited. I highly recommend Negril Spice Jamaican American Cuisine to anyone looking for a delicious, authentic Jamaican dining experience. It’s definitely worth a visit, and I can’t wait to go back again. Five stars all around! Will be updating with pics!

Welcoming atmosphere and quick service. The Jerk Chicken meal with rice and peas was absolutely delicious. The cabbage was different and could use some seasoning. We will definitely return when we are in the area.

My ex introduced me to this place several years ago. It’s my favorite place to get jerk chicken. It’s always so good and flavorful. I always get the large plate so I can have leftovers. I don’t think I’ve ever gotten anything else before besides the patties, but I’ve heard that all of their food is good. It seems to be a very popular place with the locals as well. It’s a small restaurant, you can dine in but I usually always take my food to go. I highly recommend this place if you want authentic jamaican food!

When trying to place a phone order, the phones were off. So I went in, and told the lady who looked surprised and turned them on. I ordered jerk pork and stewed beef. The jerk pork wasn’t anything special. I prefer another one that isn’t too far. I never got the beefed stew and got chicken instead as they messed up my order. The chicken wasn’t anything special. Dropped stars because of not being able to place a phone order so I had to wait 20 mins, and for getting my order wrong after waiting. Another star for the food being mediocre and being expensive. I spent $45 on 2 large ordered somehow. I probably won’t be back as there are better Jamaican options in a 15 min drive vicinity.

My family was on vacation in Sanford. My husband being from Jamaica wanted to find some authentic food. We stumbled across this place. The food was delicious, however the customer service from the woman in the front was terrible. My husband was asking the KIND gentleman working up front about the menu. A few items were sold out when we placed our order so we knew the food would be good. He asked a few questions about the menu, one being if the Ackee and salt fish was cooked daily because where we live, Ackee and saltfish is only made on Saturdays and Sundays. The woman gave him quite an attitude saying “what kind of question is that?” And that we shouldn’t be asking that because the question was invalid and wasn’t a smart question etc. she then accused us of saying that they don’t cook fresh food. my husband explained to her that he was just asking about the menu and how it worked here because again we are from out of town. She went back and forth with my husband for a bit. But the gentleman at the front was quite professional and helped us out quickly. Had the food not been as good as it was, I’d given this place a nastier review. Maybe she was having a bad day, but that doesn’t give right to treat people that way for asking simple questions about THEIR establishment.

Better than the “pork pit” in MoBay. Excellent jerk pork and chicken. Definitely, the best Jamaican food you can find off the island.
