About Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria
Considered the oldest family name in Chicago pizza, Lou Malnati’s is as rich in history as its pizza is in flavor.
Lou Malnati got his start in the 1940’s working in Chicago’s first deep dish pizzeria. He took his pizza expertise to Lincolnwood, a northern suburb of Chicago, where he and his wife Jean opened the first Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria on March 17, 1971. Lou was known for his fun-loving character as well as making Chicago’s best pizza. Loyal patrons lined the streets on opening day for a taste of his delicious deep dish creations. Lou always thought it was funny that an Italian should open a pizzeria in a Jewish neighborhood on an Irish holiday.

What a great customer service experience. We had 2 pizzas delivered from the Lake Zurich store tonight (one thin crust, one deep dish) and the deep dish pizza got messed up in transit. The sauce was off and half the pizza and the box was soaking wet. I called the store and spoke the Nick the manager. He took ownership of the problem, refunded my money and sent out 2 new pizzas to my house. This was awesome customer service and I can’t wait to order again!

The most lovely and kindest staff I have encountered in a long, long time. The service here is remarkable and the manager/owner will go out of his way to ensure a beyond perfect customer experience. I would recommend this location over any other, and will be driving more time to this location going forward because of how well they prepare food, their timeliness, and customer service. Massive thanks to the LZ team for working so hard; it is seen and appreciated.

You know Lou’s is the best deep dish in the suburbs. But did you know they have the best Gluten Free deep dish! Get the Butter Crust add-on, it’s worth it.

First, just want to say Lou Malnatis is the best deep dish pizza in Chicago. Definitely get it with buttercrust as well. I’ve been ordering from this location for several years, I’ve never had a bad experience. They’re always fast and polite, and food quality is consistent.

They are always inconsistent and tonight took the cake. My salad had dirt in it from unwashed mushrooms. Thankfully, I noticed it before eating it. When I called, the Manager seemed annoyed and didn’t offer to deliver a new salad, he did refund it but was very short and unapologetic. Needless to say we will be ordering from their Palatine location in the future.

Fast, quick, efficient. Few staff and lots of customers. 18 year old at the desk seemed composed and made sure everyone felt accommodated. The pizza is always good from Lou’s but the extra effort from staff is a big plus!

Pizza is good as always. Driver Maureen needs to slow down. Both my pizzas were ‘slid’ with all the toppings on one side.

Lou’s is great pizza! This location is very disorganized. Ordered a pizza. Said 30 minutes. After 50 minutes they realized they had given our pizza to someone else. (I hope they enjoyed it.) We either wait another 35 minutes or can take a refund. Lousy customer service.

Great Chicago classic – Whether you’re part of the Giordanos gang, the Pequod’s Pals, or a part of the Lou Malnatis family, you can guarantee yourself full with a slice of their deep dish (or their crunchy thin slice).

Have been ordering pizza from Lou Malnatis Lake Zurich for years, less so over the past 2 years due to Covid. Recently ordered a pan pizza and when we opened it, the entire family reacted to how much smaller the pizza was between a thinner crust and much less toppings. We even requested extra sauce as an extra ingredient but not only was there no extra sauce, it was sparse with about a third of the pizza showing cheese. Oh, and the cost of our total bill was about 50% than it used to be. Understand that cost have gone up and therefore they have raised their prices, but the reduction in product quality was disappointing.
