I went here w eyes bigger then my stomach. ended up spending around 60ish on close to 2 lbs of meat w 4 sides. for 2 people. we had left overs for days. so the portions were great! the staff was friendly. the food was very very good the fried mac was original (to me) w it’s jalapeños breading. the cat fish was also fried beautifully (both of those are hard to do right and easy to mess up). the pulled pork & ribs were beautiful and satisfying. (I don’t remember if I had any of the brisket, and I definitely don’t eat greens or ocra (hate the flavors)) but I was told they were both amazing from my friend who eat them. so great price big portions clean nice seating, and worth the price ez

I was a chef at a smokehouse that got a fair amount of national/regional press. I only state that so you understand when I say the brisket was on point I hope you understand I know what I’m talking about. The staff was also top notch. This was my first time here and I will eat here every time I go through Tucson from now on. Oh and the prices were really low for a smokehouse. I’m used to paying almost twice as much. Seriously good job to the owners/employees.

I recently picked up pulled pork and barbecue sauce as the protein to go along with baked potatoes for a loaded potato supper. As usual Ken’s Hardwood Barbecue provided my family with excellent smoked meat that thrilled the taste buds and outstanding barbecue sauce with just the right amount of heat for the whole family to enjoy.

06SEP2022: Two pulled pork sandwiches and a side of mac’n’cheese. Short and sweet, absolutely incredible BBQ. Zero fat, so lean, perfectly prepared, and not that I am a ‘big’ portion kind of guy, but for $8 – I will be skipping dinner this evening.

This review does not reflect on the service; which was great! Very friendly. The food however, could be much better. The rack of ribs had a heavy amount of seasoning rub which over powered the meat. The greens had a strange after taste. The Mac n cheese had a processes cheese sauce instead of baked. The sweet potato pie tasted store bought. Overall, mediocre meal.

You want BBQ try this place out they have everything for anyone hubby had the pulled pork great amount sweet and tangy flavored it was great there sause was amazing don’t even get me started on there coleslaw had a nice and cold sweet taste it was strange but a nice surprise to have a mango flavor fallowing after you chew and eat it . It was refreshing I had the fried catfish I never had such a clean flavored cat fish like that in my life. The seasons were on point gold and perfectly flakes the French fries were super good gold and again season lightly but perfect. My daughter had the vegetarian chili beans. For me it wasn’t the greatest but if she’s happy then I’m happy. Highly recommended if you want to try something new very friendly and the vibe was just wow I will be going BK

I first want to write that Ken’s food is probably the best barbecue in Tucson. I started going to them when they were selling out of their food truck. My issue is with the fact that I ordered three separate combo meals which included fries with no seasoning.for each order. What I received was one container with a hole in the top and one order of fries instead of 3 separate orders for which I was charged for. In addition my sandwich wasn’t even in a container. It was just sitting on top of one of the rib combo meals box. In my opinion, what they did was just put all three order of fries in one container to save on money. I paid all this money and I hardly received any fries for my order because it was lumped all together with the other 2 orders. This is the second time that I had an issue with ordering fries. The last time, I ordered the same combo meal to go and when I opened it up, there was maybe not even a cup worth of fries and they were completely drenched with oil and seasoning. They weren’t even edible. I didn’t call about that order but this last experience was the last straw. I paid a lot of money along with a great tip and I expected to get what I ordered and not to be cheated. Sorry, but covid or lack of supplies isn’t an excuse for not providing what I paid for.
