It was a lazy morning and we wanted something different to wake us up. We had been wanting to try this spot for a while now and it didn’t disappoint. You are quickly greeted with chips, salsa, and queso. The chips are amazing and I did what I sometimes do, I mixed the queso and salsa together to give it a little kick. It was a great combo. I had not tried lamb meat in my Birria tacos yet so I decided to try theirs. I was very happy with my choice. The tacos are great and the meat was tender and juicy. Their rice and beans had a lot of flavor. My Girlfriend got the Pina Loca Fajitas. Holy pineapple Batman this was freaking delicious. It has so many flavors incorporated. Steak, shrimp, and chicken. All the regular items in fajita’s served in a half pineapple. They also had a great trio of salsa that they bring to the table. This is a must for foodies looking for a great authentic Mexican Grill. Oh and they have a ton of seafood options. So we will be going back to try as much as we can. Enjoy!

The drink is el soltero, amazing cocktail, the green plate is aguachiles, so much flavor, tangy and spicy succulent shrimp, the other plate is birria tacos, their consome is to die for. Frankly all my needs were met when the chips and queso were brought out.

My first visit. Do results. This place is amazed. The staff is Polite. food is Hot and tasty. What you must try is like a huge baked potato with melted Cheese on top. They cook the cheese to the point where it’s crunchy. Something you must experience definitely rates a return visit.

In the past I considered La Tapatia as one of the Top 2 or 3 Mexican restaurants in OKC. Unfortunately under the new ownership the food dipped but has started to rebound. The service however is very inconsistent and today 6-20-23 1pm was the worst (see photo). After she delivered my food she returned to her seat and texted/talked on her phone most of the time. Never asking for a refill or if I needed anything.

If you are a fan of seafood the aguachiles is a must try. It’s is full of flavor and one of the best items on the menu. The birria is good. It’s not the best in OKC but it’s still a very good choice. We’ve dined here multiple times and the waitresses are always very hospitable, willing to answer any questions and engage in conversation.
