They closed at 7pm on the 4th of July, and we came around 5 min earlier than that, looking for takeout – but they had already closed earlier than they said they would. An employee even opened the door while we were checking if they were open, but he told us they had closed a few minutes ago (which contradicted their signs, which said they’d close at 7). I think it’s unacceptable to close earlier than you say you will, even on a holiday. I’ve heard great things about this place, but now I will never eat here.

While visiting in Berkeley over the holidays, we stopped at The Habit Burger (new to me) for a quick bite. As I walked in I resigned myself to French Fries, my go-to meal when no Vegan on the menu. No line, only one person ahead of us. Got to the register, asked for a Vegan Burger and was pleasantly surprised. The Manager was quite engaging in espousing the merits of their Vegan Burger, and they delivered! Their Vegan burger was huge (see photo), moist & tasty! Way too much so I saved half for my flight out. About 4hrs later sitting in the SF Airport happily enjoying my cold Habit Vegan leftovers, but still moist & delicious. [Side note: I’m skeptical if the cheese was in fact Vegan.]

God damn these burgers were good. My mom wanted to go there for her birthday and when we pulled up to the place I was like okay that’s my crazy mom again wanting some McDonald’s-looking s**t but no, my attitude was checked right quick when I took a bite of of those delicious burgers. Serves me right, doubting my momma. Definitely worth a bite.
