Looks good smells good but with a SURPRISE.Was my first time ordering from Red River. 3 out of the 5 pieces of meat were just the ends and were nothing but fat. Also ordered the cream corn, and it was cold and settled. It also had a brownish tint like it had been sitting awhile. I didn’t pay to eat fat.

Great Joint, I had the brisket and pork ribs. They were amazing by themselves and when you add the house sauce to them. Mmmm mmmm good! Definitely a must have. The pecan pie was amazing too!

I used to love this place a few years ago but Red River BBQ has significantly dropped in quality. I went around lunch time and was served room temperature brisket, sausage, and ribs – all of which were dry.

We started with the Texas hushpuppies. The texture was odd… we think it was the cheese, but the flavor was amazing. We both wanted to try the brisket, so we opted to share two mains. I decided to try the chicken fried pork special and he got the brisket plate. Mine was delicious! From the crispy pork to the mashed potatoes and the fried okra, it was excellent. His brisket was melt in your mouth amazing. I’d read some reviews that it was dry and chewy. I don’t know what they were eating, but it wasn’t the same brisket we experienced. Their sauce was pretty good, however the brisket really didn’t need it. We’ll definitely go back.

What a disappointment! I don’t know what has happened since the last time we ate here about a year ago. My daughters barbecue chicken sandwich had a large bone in it. My sandwich was about quarter percent fat. And it was gross. It was the kind of fat you cannot swallow and the meat barely covered the sandwich. The mac & cheese was good. The potato salad and mashed potatoes were fair, not much flavor.

First time here and was not disappointed!! 🙂 will return!! The fried pickles were so good and the Mac n cheese was so good usually Mac n cheese at certain restaurants can be disappointing but this place knows how to make it 🙂

I ordered a salad for curbside pickup. I was told to call when I arrived. I did and was put on hold for a long time, when the rude lady that works there picked up, I told her I was outside. She said she’d bring it to me. When I asked her for the total, so that I could have the proper amount ready for her, she wouldn’t give it to me and just rudely said she’d “tell me when she goes outside”. Fifteen minutes go by and nothing. I finally relent and go inside only to be met by the rude Mexican girl that works there (same one answering calls) and I didn’t say one word, had literally just walked out of my car and she annoyingly tells me with an attitude, “I didn’t come out here because your food wasn’t ready.” I literally hadn’t said ONE word to her. Then, she proceeds to walk in and tell her coworker “she’s all mad at me because her food wasn’t ready” and that’s when I’d had enough. I said “I never even said one word to you. When did I say I was mad? And I wasn’t, but now I am.” So rude and unprofessional, but she got real quiet when she realized I wasn’t standing for her unprofessional & unwarranted behavior. I asked for a manager & he didn’t seem very interested in helping. Just asked me if I wanted to make my own salad. This girl has no business working with the public being so rude to customers. I hope she was dealt with, as she should be. We will not be returning to this poorly managed establishment where this behavior is tolerated. Furthermore, the chicken in my salad tasted rubbery and hard and I wasn’t even given silverware, so had to drive all the way home to eat there.

This was my first time every trying authentic Texas BBQ and it definitely did not disappoint! The pork ribs, brisket, jalapeño & cheddar sausage, and roasted chicken were all fantastic. The potato salad was easily the best of all the sides we tried. The BBQ sauce was so good I was tempted to stick my straw in the bottle. Lots of both indoor and outdoor seating and the restaurant appeared very clean. We arrived just 20 mins after opening and it was already packed inside. I also didn’t catch his name, but the man who took our order at the front counter was super friendly and walked us through the menu since it was our first time here! Definitely will be back

EDIT EDIT for second visit after this review …it was our first time here.. won’t be our last.. even though I’m not much on going to the counter to order.. the food was absolutely worth going to the counter to order some of the very best chicken tenders and fried shrimp I’ve ever had.. the green beans were meaty and tasty! My husband loved the chicken and sausage and the potatoe salad.. it’s a place that I can’t wait to go back to for those shrimp.. it’ll be hard to order something different since it was that GOOD! atmosphere was great too!

BBQ is really good. I like the choices they give you for the brisket (lean or fatty), the turkey plate is excellent. Macaroni & cheese is a Texas staple with BBQ, but for some reason, they don’t rinse the noodles and so all you taste is the starch. Green beans are great, salad bar is well maintained and offers a good selection. Service is good, it’s a combination of serve and self-serve. As with most BBQ places I have been to, it is very open and can get loud. If you are looking for an intimate setting, it isn’t here.
