Ethel’s has to be the one of the best creole restaurants in Maryland hands down. I have never had such good creole food in my 30 years in Maryland.

Every time I come here, the meal is absolute perfection and I leave so unbelievably happy. Tonight we had the ribs and gumbo, hands down the best ribs I’ve ever had and the gumbo was incredible! I’d recommend a Butterfly 75, it’s a delicious cocktail, I also had martini that could not have been better. We absolutely love this place!

We had an amazing dinner last night at Ethel’s. It feels cozy and warm inside the dining room. The service was wonderful and attentive. The portion sizes were large and food came out with good timing. Most importantly of all, I truly felt like I was in New Orleans when eating the delicious food. The lovely Creole spices were warm and rich without being overpowering or too spicy. I am already looking to visit again soon! Thank you for a wonderful evening.

Nice small restaurant with great food and sizes worth the price! Food made fresh and not overly seasoned an authentic flavor.

I don’t leave many reviews but in this instance I feel the need to Let me start by saying as person who struggles with anxiety and other health issues like diabetes and hbp this place has become one of my top five favorite places to go dine. My sisters and I brought our mom here for her birthday this year and because of Ethel’s intimate setting and warm kind waiters I Immediately felt at ease upon being seated and throughout my meal. For starters we had the crab dip which totally blew me away. When you think of crab dip there’s a certain taste in your mind (cheddar cheese, mayo, old bay)… scratch that because there is nothing in this world like Ethel’s!! I ordered Moms crab cakes and they were absolutely scrumptious. The crab cakes were paired with the al dente vegetables and mashed potatoes that taste like an experienced grandmother was in the back preparing them herself (meaning homemade) . I did not grab the collard greens but my sister did, She let me try them and they were just distinct and AMAZING! I can honestly say everything I ate was unique and delicious, unlike anything I had tried before. While making our reservations we did ask if we were allowed to bring in a cake and they not only allowed us but they provided a knife and kept the cake cold in the fridge for us so that it wasn’t warm when we decided to enjoy it. Upon leaving I didn’t feel heavy or overwhelmed with salt which has often been my experience because many restaurants LOAD food up with salt in order to increase flavor or to preserve certain dishes. Ethel’s was like a breath of fresh air… Good for my body and my mind ❤️ I left feeling unwound in a good way and very satisfied. I will most certainly be back Lord will be done.

Had a ladies night at Ethel’s Creole Kitchen. Parking is a bit stressful here, so Uber if you can. We all shared a crab dip as an appetizer. It was gooey and delicious. Perfect for sharing with a group of 4. There was a choice between two different crab cakes: Maryland and Mama’s. My friend and I ordered one each and traded part of it so we could taste both. Mama’s is supposed to have less filler. Honestly I couldn’t tell the difference, but they were both good. Both came with a Creole remoulade that was quite zesty. They paired the crabcakes with mashed potatoes and grilled vegetables. Everything tasted fresh and well made. The staff was friendly and helpful. Place was clean and the decor is very colorful and gives the New Orleans vibe.
