Nice place, clean bathrooms. Only could see 3 employees working at the time. Stopped in with a party of 5 Saturday for lunch. Sushi in sashimi prepared very well. One party member had the hibachi and it was also very tasty. Waitress was.Working hard and did a great job. Will be back…

There’s a little slice of Japan in Sussex and it’s called Ichiban. Awesome food, wonderful service, delicious authentic drinks, and the freshest sushi and sashimi. You feel like you just stepped into downtown Tokyo’s finest… we’ll be back again!

Went here for the first time and pretty impressed. The salmon tempura starter was delicious. Also had the tempura shrimp with vegetables, everything was great. Main course was steak hibachi. Very good but would have been better with yum yum sauce. Asked for some but they said they didn’t offer it. Other hibachi meals I’ve had come with ginger and yum yum sauce.

Went out for my birthday, and everyone in my party had wonderful food. The server was amazing and made sure we had everything that we needed. Sushi was well made, and the mochi was very good as well. I would recommend for anyone to try for a night out!

Absolutely delicious food! My husband loves the Sussex roll (and has enjoyed a few others he has tried) and I always get the shrimp hibachi. So delicious! The shrimp are always cooked perfectly and the cooked vegetables have a nice crisp to them.

The food is fair. I found the rolls to be loose the sashimi to be too thick. The restaurant atmosphere is very poor and our server hovered around our table. When we were ready to pay and leave he was no where to be found. Even the owner and hosts were confused. Not a number one choice but not a last choice.

Great food and nice atmosphere. It’s small, but happy to have the variety in town. Update: went again today and I think things have slipped a bit. The panco wasn’t mixed into the spicy tuna for example, so it was like sawdust next to the meat. See my photos. It might have just been a new chef. I am sure we will go back again.
