One of the last places left in Crystal Lake, IL., that still has a slowly turning rack of gyro meat going ! It’s a fresh vs. frozen ordeal when I’m searching for this great Greek sandwich. Shaved lamb off the spit, is way better. I did a 3-way split of 3 different sandwiches for 3 people. A Gyro, an Italian Beef and a “Homemade Meatball” Sandwich… 3 Votes! 6 Thumbs up! All three of those, were excellent! Definitely will be ordering from again.

Food was good. I’m not a big fan of the neon hot dog relish, but it was still good. Great service, fast and friendly. A/C was working very hard since outside temp was in the 90’s. Will definitely go back. Lots of good things on the menu to try.

Thoroughly enjoyed the Vienna hot dog special – two hot dogs, fries, and soft drink all for a very reasonable price. Later noticed an order of onion rings on someone else’s tray and ordered them, too. Plenty of picnic tables outside when the weather is nice. The owner and restaurant are very patriotic, supporting the police, military, and Boy Scouts. Plenty of waving American flags adorn the building, and the interior walls have several dedications to the aforementioned groups. The menu is chuck full of tasty items. Next time in I’ll have to try the Prairie Dog, it looked incredible.

Had a horrible experience from this restaurant, My husband and I ordered a very overpriced meal that was nowhere near worth it, only three items totaling $37. My husband ordered a Footlong Polish Chicago Style, we asked the server who was taking the order if it was correct, as we had issues with this restaurant in the past. The server appeared to be not paying attention to our order, once we got home after waiting for nearly 10 minutes for our food, we realized our Polish was soaking in mustard and grilled onions instead of Chicago Style. I decided to call to switch my order out, the manager was extremely rude and aggressive with me, he cursed me out after I was asking if I could bring my food back or if he could come to me. He refused to give me my money back or remake my food, he blamed short staffing issues, if that was an issue he should not be serving customers. Don’t waste your time here.

Heard about this place and how everyone raves about it so I had to take the drive to try it. I order my favorite thing, the Chicago dog. Simple item, but a lot places can easily mess this up. And now this is one of my favorite places to come. Can’t wait to try the rest of their menu and tell everyone I know.

I ordered one hamburger cooked medium rare with pickles & mustard no top bun & one hamburger cooked medium with Mayo, ketchup & onion. Both of the burgers were BURNED around all of the edges! The burger with no top bun came on a piece of white bread not a bottom bun. The hamburger patties were over salted & were as thin a paper! I have had pancakes that were thicker. Beyond a waste of my money! Never going back!

I live close and just found this gem. It’s great for a healthier option on the fly as it has a drive thru, but also indoor seating. My order was carefully prepared, aesthetically pleasing and tasted top notch. Kudos!
