In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

First time visiting this place, when walked into this place, gentlemen in the front counter was very welcoming and very helpful explaining about the menu. I’ve ordered one chicken strip and one chicken slider in very hot. Seasoning of the chicken were ok, not bad or not fantastic. Paying almost $5 for extra piece of chicken tender isn’t worth it to me, I understand due to inflation and location. Food 3/5, Service 5/5, Atmosphere 5/5.

Finally had an opportunity to try out Dave’s. I ordered the 2-piece mild tender combo (a drink is not included). The combo came with the tenders, fries, sliced bread, pickles, and Dave’s sauce. I really did not care for the dry rub or whatever was used on the tenders. The chicken was tender but I just couldn’t get past the coating. This may work for some but it really doesn’t work for me.

Was excited to try, have waited and tried to have an open mind despite neighboring reviews. Chicken has no flavor, dry, and heavily dipped in some sort of chili powder. The crunchy pickles were great. None of us finished our meals.

Loved this Dave’s Hot Chicken location! Food was amazing per usual and I’ve never had a negative customer service experience here. My family and I dined in and ordered the 10-slider hot box with a fries hot box and absolutely devoured our order.

Pathetic customer service. Took 2/3 minutes just to take our order and on window no one even came to even tell us the total or anything. Waited 15 mints straight at drive thru. Honked and the Hispanic girl named Akela came with an attitude as if it’s our mistake that we were there to give them business. Asked how long will it take, she screamed with the total, had to ask again if it’s ready before we pay. Handed $40 cash and threw back the change that fell outside of the car. Ordered at 9.32 and received food at 9.50. I wish there was 0 star option. I feel bad for the next few cars behind us. Owner needs to work on their customer service or just close it down!!!
