Excellent little steakhouse with some great seafood as well. Service was outstanding as well. We didn’t feel rushed during the meal even though it is a small space. Although the decor is dated don’t let it turn you off from coming here and enjoying the great food. Also note that this space is down a pretty steep stairwell so it is not wheelchair accessible and I did not see an elevator.

Quaint place. The food was really good. Service was kind of slow, though it was fairly busy when we arrived. The server was fun and enjoyed him as a server. Prices are typical for Hood River. I would eat there again.

Steaks & Italian fare. Decent spot for families or locals wanting to mix it up. Has the charm and ambiance of a long-running local joint, but could not recommend on a list of top-stops in Hood River. Food just wasn’t up to snuff.

Make a reservation! Got here early, but people coming in after got turned away because there is limited availability. The crab ravioli with creamy pesto was so delicious! Pretty standard pricing and great service.

Seriously THE best steaks in Hood River & probably for miles around. The atmosphere is quiet and comfortable and the wait staff friendly and knowledgeable. Call ahead for reservations. This is a favorite for us and as many times a we have gone we have NEVER had a bad experience. I highly suggest it!

This is our favorite steak spot in Hood River. The person who was our server is a super nice guy, I think he might be the owner but I am not sure. The ambiance is really nice and on the darker side, which we really like, it is nice and romantic. The food is always great! We usually get salad, steak, potato and dessert. The prices for food and wine are very reasonable. We highly recommend The Subterranean if you are ever visiting Hood River

2 hours from start to finish. Felt very ignored. Food was ok ish. Steak was ok. Definitely better in town. Couldn’t even get our orders right, and didn’t seem to care that they did. Automatic gratuity for 5 or more seems a little excessive, so that’s all they got. We usually tip very well. But they took care of that for us. Look elsewhere for better service and food.

Really neat atmosphere and fantastic food. I had a truly terrific salmon caesar salad and the mashed potato tacos were one of the best takes on “pub fare” I’ve ever had. Would absolutely return. Just don’t expect to see any daylight while you’re here, the place lives up to its name!
