The Pizza here is . The Cheese to Sauce ratio is on point. It is not greasy at all and it has the right amount of crispiness. My mom had the Mushroom Slice. They did not hold back on the Mushrooms. They also have Pastas, Sandwiches and Appetizers. The prices are average. The only thing as far as the place itself, is that, you have to go down a steep set of stairs. To go into the seating area you go up another set of stairs but less stairs than to enter. The service is quick and efficient.

I have been getting to go orders from Grotto for many years now as I work in the area. Stopping in is literally always a pleasure – the staff are genuinely good people and I have never been disappointed in my meal. Big fan of their chicken Caesar salad (love their homemade dressing & garlicky croutons) and really any pasta dish or sandwich, their sauce is great. I would recommend Grotto to anyone in the area that would like a yummy Italian treat without a big hit to your pocket

Pretty good cheese pizza. They still have the Tuesday special 2 cheese slices & a fountain drink for $6.50 (cash), if using credit card $6.76. Their fountain drinks are weird. The fanta one spat out a bit of thick syrup, and the sprite doesn’t taste normal. They don’t provide napkins when giving me my order, or tell me where the cap and straw would be. It’s an underground pizza spot, indoor eating area is small, creative but tight still. Great place for pizza grab and go. They offer specialty pizza, sandwiches and salads.

Friendly folks serving an authentic NY slice – big & foldable with excellent red sauce & variety of fresh toppings to choose from. Delicious gluten free crust option also. We got a personal pizza which we shared for two, an order of calamari, and an order of spaghetti with a butter sauce. Everything was delicious. The staff were great!! The next time we’re back in NYC will definitely go back.

Looking for authentic New York pie!!! This is the spot. Tried 5 other highly recommended places and this one was the best hidden gem off the beaten path. If you’ve tried Joey’s in times square you’d shoot yourself for not going here first. Especially cozy spot for 2.
