It was an absolutely incredible experience. Walking into the lot and seeing the layout they set up for the space, you can tell they knew what they were doing. The majestic tree is the focal point for the entire dining space, and it really levels up the entire experience while you’re dining. The service we received brought us back to dining in Barcelona; tons of energy, and they just let you enjoy your time and relax. I highly recommend the pork chop with their spicy pineapple glaze dipping sauce.

Overall the ambience was good, but the service was unfortunately not. My table of 5 had a thirty minute average wait for a drink, with mixed cocktails coming out significantly before simple beer cans. Although our table was round and in the middle of a large area it was like we were in an invisibility bubble. It took an hour and a half after sitting to finally put the order in and get the first round of drinks, and everything was downhill after that. The food was decent but, but after arriving an hour after ordering, some of the meals were cold on arrival and others undercooked. Not acceptable for thirty dollar meats on a plate. The concept is strange because you’re buying a single piece of meat on a plate with no sides, at entree prices and everything else including sauces is ordered a la carte at a cost. We had two different waiters start us off but apparently our ticket got lost somehow because we didn’t receive any food for a very long time after seating and no one ever came by to check on us or ask how anything was. To my frustration two equal sized tables around us sat, ate, and had dessert by the time we got our first appetizers. I can understand it gets busy but this is a big table with the reservation that was in the center and we had to flag staff down multiple times. The only saving grace was the third waiter at the end who brought a dessert and lightened everyone’s mood by being excellent. He ended up handing out a free round of digestive and comped one of the pieces of meat. He saved the night! But not the experience.

This was my first, long awaited, visit to Jaguar Sun’s brain child Sunny’a Someday Steakhosue located at Lot 6. A bit of an oasis in a slowly transforming area of Miami, this place has it all. From the fabulously whimsical decor and vibe of this open air, outdoor restaurant, to some of the best service I’ve had in Sofla, along of course widely delicious food it’s a must visit. At least while there’s time, as they are sadly, but understandably shutting down for the season. For starters we had the wagyu tartare, phenomenal. The striped bass crudo, which while very enjoyable, I’m not sure I would repeat as I like a more soft fish and would opt for the yellowtail or even tuna tartare. The Parker house rolls, which are raved about consistently, were really enhanced by the honey butter served to drench them in. Otherwise they honestly didn’t do much for me. For the larger plates, we decided upon the Kurobuta pork chop, pictured here, and the duck breast. Both were outstanding, with the pork chop edging it out for the night. An absolute award winner, with its marble layering and grilled to perfection, I would order every opportunity. The duck breast had this insane layer of crispy skin atop a layer of beautiful fat that rounded it out of wonderfully. The breast meat in the middle was rare and did leave it a tad tough as does duck breast, possibly leaving room for a minute or two left to cook. Overall, it was a smashing hit and can’t wait to see what they have in store upon reopening later this year.

Sunny’s Steakhouse Pop-Up is an experience. Great menu. Chef driven. Excellent Rib-eye and best steak tartare. If your lucky to get a reservation, do it!

One of the most unique and meals I have eaten. The relaxed vibe outdoor steak house is an amazing concept and I absolutely Ioved it. The meal was amazing, hands down the best ceaser salad and Parker roll I’ve had.

This place deserves the 5 starts over & over again. First came here when it was a “pop up”. Now the Miami staple is home to delicious cocktails, fire cooked steaks with delicious sides & deserts. The jaguar sun family has done an excellent job. As foodie from NYC this is my favorite place to come when I am in town. Get the Parker house rolls and don’t skip a sauce for your steak.

The pineapple habanero sauce is absolutely amazing! There’s definitely a kick to it. I highly recommend it with the pork-chop and/or the blistered shishitos.
