In town for poker, but tired of same choices at the casino so was nice to learn about this new downtown restaurant! Parking was easy enough, right out front with plenty of spots even at 6pm Saturday evening. Waited patiently behind group of about a dozen people that took awhile for the employees to figure out how to sit them since the layout for seating is weird. Eating solo so they sat me behind the waiting area by the window where the only 2-seaters were, and I got the wobbly table. Didn’t care becuz hungry! For an app I decided on the creative seafood eggrolls, huge portions but oily and salty. Then tried the chicken/sausage gumbo cup. This one was strange, didn’t taste like any gumbo I’m used to and couldn’t find sausage in the cup! Watery with no thickness, also overly salty. The “Grandma’s potato salad” was fantastic as was the main entree “Catfish Plaquemines” a grilled catfish dish over angel hair pasta w/ a crawfish sauce. That was the saving grace, and despite all the saltiness I’d come back to try some of the other dishes available because I just love cajun/creole food that much and I want this place to do well, they need to just work out some of the kinks and listen to diner feedback! ❤️

Food rates about a 8 or 9 out of 10 depending on what you get. Everything is cooked to order so prepare for occasional wait times on food, but it is worth it. Drinks are done sef service which cuts down on lag time with service between tables. We have been twice and look forward to going again. It’s more expensive than our typical outing but the type of food calls for the price point difference.

I usually take reviews with a grain of salt, but I think I can honestly trust all of the (good) reviews here, and agree with every one of them. The food here was phenomenal! The space and ambience is perfect for the theme. Good bit of zydeco playing in the background and beautiful and funky art everywhere. I would have given 5 stars, but here is why I rated only 4.

Absolutely love this place. Have been coming since they was in Denison. Couldn’t ask for a better place to eat, or the amazing staff. Especially when the ingredients are fresh and cooked and brought out hot. Cajun pasta and David’s fosters. Are what’s below.

The food was so delicious! The waitress I had was great! I love the feel of the place, and boy I haven’t enjoyed a meal so much in quit a while! It was something different then the typical around Durant. Unless you go into the casino. I had fried shrimp, fish , cawfish. They where out of the crab that day so they substituted. My husband had the alligator . That was so tasty!!

The wait was a little long because the place was full but it was Wirth it. The service and attention given while waiting and during when ordering was real good. I liked the food a lot, the flavor and taste was very good. Never been in New Orleans but this place brings the taste.

We had an amazing experience and will be regulars at this spot. Authentic New Orleans cuisine. The seafood gumbo bowl is huge and has the crab inside!! The desserts we had were the bread pudding and the Ooey Gooey!!! We love everything about it from atmosphere to service and food. I’d give more than 5 stars if I could!!
