The reviews were spot on for this place!! I was intimidated to enter due to the restaurant seeming more like a house entry. I felt like I should have knocked first, ha! The smells are delicious! I liked being able to see into the kitchen area and notice clean habits while preparing food! Service was great! I received a delicious burger and fries and enjoyed every last bit of it … but I could have sworn I ordered the pulled pork sandwich. Nevertheless I took it as a happy accident and left pleased and full! I don’t think a single item here would be “bad” and I felt lucky to have the opportunity to enjoy a meal at a great restaurant!

Loved this place! The staff was really nice and helpful. Very relaxed atmosphere and small dining area with football on the TV. The food was great! We each got the 2 meat, 1 side platter and it was a good-sized amount of food. Definitely took home leftovers. The baked beans and fries were so good, also the ribs, brisket, burnt ends, and pulled pork were delicious!

Too much bad barbecue sauce on the brisket wasn’t cut right on my second order I will give them a second chance this is what they consider to be sliced beef cut with the grain and very chewy

Well, this place found a way to make that KC smoky, sweet BBQ sauce be in harmony plus a little kick of heat. The portion sizes were on point. It is a small restaurant but I was very happy with my pulled pork meal. If I ever come down south to KC again, I hope to see their food truck or go to their brick and mortar again!

I took my family to KC today to watch the Chiefs. I was going to goto one of the top 10 in my last bbq search when I came across Taste of Kansas City Bbq during a search on my way down from MN. I am really glad I made the decision to stop at this place. Staff was attentive and welcoming. We ordered smoked wings, brisket grilled cheese, kc 3 meat platter, loaded fries. Sides included cheese fries, beans and coleslaw. I really enjoyed everything we got. The sauce was fantastic. The beans were the best beans I have tasted yet as a grown adult and experienced bbq boss. My message to those at this small bbq gem…’ I will be back!’

The Taste of KC wow wow wow the best smoked Turkey I have ever had in my life so amazing so juice ordered turkey for are little one and fries and wife had turkey and bunt ends and baked beans and fries I ordered all burnt ends and fries and coleslaw was not a big fan of coleslaw but I see pics of freash slaw I would love to try next time the burnt ends are nice but not my favorite ones in the world the baked bean where out of this world they should not even be called baked bean should be call love in a cup so much flavor I cant wait to try all the other items on the menu rib tips sound and look amazing The man knows how to cook and smoke we will be back 100% cant wait amazing bbq near the zoo

We got a 2 meat 2 side plate with burnt ends, pulled pork, beans, and potato salad. We got so much food and all of it was absolutely fantastic. Moist pork, chunky and tasty burnt ends, and great zesty sauce. Some of the best beans I’ve had in the city, too. I’d absolutely go back.
