We are a multi-roaster coffee bar and from-scratch kitchen HQ’d in Everett with our second location right here in beautiful Bellingham.
We’ll drop some of our Everett location’s accolades here cause it helps people trust that we don’t suck, but we also aren’t pretentious, so come hang with us! Promise we’re nice!

I was excited to visit Narrative Coffee in Bellingham and see how it compared to their Everett location, that I loved! They nailed it again. The Buttermilk Biscuit Sandwich was excellent and the Ritual Mocha was silky smooth and delicious. The space is much smaller than Everett but made it a bit more cozy and more like the perfect neighborhood coffee shop. They also have a big covered outdoor seating area if you prefer to be outside. And, being just steps away from Bellingham’s smallest park, the Broadway Overlook, you can grab a coffee and enjoy it with a great view of Bellingham Bay and Squalicum Harbor.

A nice small place for coffee, tea, or light brunch fare. Good balance of flavors in the soup, ingredients all felt very fresh for our Salmon Lochs Microgreen Hot Honey Biscuit, and most of the food and drinks are caringly crafted right there. Also a decently sized semi-private room in the back for a group outing or meeting.

Checked out their outpost in Everett first, and enjoyed the Bellingham outpost today! Cute space, delicious looking pastries, they even have take home biscuits for sale to make at home! Ordered drip coffee but there was only like a half of cup left so he offered to make me an americano too if I didn’t have time to wait which was super nice! I also took a cookie to go with me and it was excellent! Soft and chewy, but not crumbly or too soft. Good chocolate flavor!

Cute spot if you’re looking for a drink, snack, or meal and don’t need to worry about a budget.

My first time here. Monday morning. I was shocked to be told that my 12 oz Americano was $5. I felt that the tip options on pop-up payment screen were irritating at best. I don’t feel there’s any need for tipping on a counter-service where you have to bust your own plates and sit at a picnic table outside. Drinking my $5 coffee beverage out of a chipped cup was also pretty annoying. There is no way that they did not notice that this chip was on the edge of the cup. It was huge. Thank goodness I’m right-handed.

Cool little coffee shop! A had the peach tea which I’m not going to lie was a tad pricey however I was amazingly surprised at how good it was! It seemed like they really took the time to make sure I got what I paid for.

Cute little place tucked in next to Elizabeth Station! Limited seating so get there early. You can get pastries from the Mount Bakery, or order from their own menu (the French toast is amazing). Espresso menu is pricey but the drinks were unique and delicious!

Love the drip coffee and the space. Staff is warm and friendly. Lots of light and clean aesthetic make this a nice space to relax or work from. Dealbreaker for me though and the reason I won’t be back is cost of drip coffee and no free or discounted refills. If you’re going to charge a premium $4.50 for a cup of drip, then give a free refill or charge a token amount for refills like $0.25 or $0.50.

Ah Narrative. I’m so glad I visited the shop while I was Bellingham. One thing that’s really big for me when visiting a local shop is feeling the sense of community, and this one did not disappoint. I loved that I felt like a Bellinghamster even though I was just visiting. Thanks for the awesome service and welcome Sergei and Micah!

Books and covers – somewhat nondescript outside, fantastic inside! Lots of nice little and large design touches, and loved the big tasting wheel at the back.
