My family and I had a great meal here. We had oysters and the chicken and waffles. Everything was fresh and delicious. Our server (his name escapes me) was friendly and knowledgeable. Great environment to watch the college world series.

We ate here several days in a row and the food is delicious! Ask for Tony, he is a wonderful server, very friendly, observant and great service! The redfish St. Charles, the gumbo and the charbroiled oysters are to die for.

The hostess and seating experience set an unfortunate tone from the start. It was 1:00 in afternoon and we wanted some oysters and to sit at a table by the window, of which most were open. Hostess sat us in the back at a large booth. I asked for a table by the window..she mumbled something about the staffing assignments and seated us at the only table by the window, which was the only window table in the sun. I respectfully asked for a table out of the sun. In an obviously annoyed way she briskly took up the place settings and sat us at a good window table. The food was great, service other than the hostess was fine. This one unnecessary action tainted the experience. I get where restaurants want to assign tables to servers, but if everything is open…it’s only a few feet of difference to accommodate a seating preference.

Tacklebox is my favorite restaurant in New Orleans. Their oysters are unbeatable, shucked fresh in front of you. The staff is incredibly friendly, and their donut balls with cinnamon are simply divine! Highly recommend trying the mini ones, theyre perfect with a morning coffee
