Following the Margarita Trail at the Agave Restaurant and Lounge located at the Eldorado Hotel. Experienced, a great friendly bartender who made an amazing margarita that packs a punch. Enjoyed the food and ambiance. I’m checking the place out to see if I would like to stay here for the Santa Fe fiestas. The hotel is centrally located, and you’re able to go to and from the plaza within walking distance to all the happening events.

Wow, what a beautiful place that is ruined by the food and music playing. Also, who puts up TV’s to distract you while in a nice fancy restaurant. My girlfriend actually got up and unplugged it. The waitress came back trying to turn it back on,(with no success) we didn’t say anything. The music playing was upbeat salsa music- did not fit the atmosphere. We went for Happy Hour to try all their appetizers, the presentation of the food was beautiful. I took one bite looked up at my girlfriend and we both had the same look! Where’s the flavor, everything was bland, no flavor, the best thing was the cheese on the nachos. Also if you are going to add a whole bunch of raw onions to an appetizer, please put that info on the menu. Glad we went to try it, but won’t be back. Can’t imaging paying for the cost of the food during regular business hours.

Maybe we just came on an off night but we sat in the bar lounge area, waited 15 minutes for someone to help us, waited another 15 minutes to get our drinks, then never saw our waiter again. A little frustrating, they seem under staffed. Drinks were good. Atmosphere is unique. Would have ordered more drinks and even food, but we were too scared we would be waiting all night.

Place is gorgeous and service is wonderful. Food is mediocre at best; honestly, super disappointed in both the menu and the cost. Drinks were banal – for a hotel off the plaza it was very underwhelming. Salmon tasted fishy and old and the meal had almost no flavor. I’ll save my $50 for a meal I know will be great – or two. Won’t be back. For context I live in ABQ and it was probably one of the worst meals I’ve had in a while.

This venerable night spot has a great reputation, but our group of 7 caught the staff on an off-night with lackluster food and very slow bill payments. But everyone at Agave was kind and charming, so we’re hopeful that a future visit will prove that the top ratings will be warranted once again.

Was here for happy hour by the fireplace had everything on the happy hour menu… All was great drinks and service.. Jennifer and bus girl quite exceptional. I’m sure glad I gave this place a second chance a few years ago I gave it a bad review and hadn’t been back.

This place is super cute! Date night, friends night, fun, relax just awesome ambiance. Great drinks and service. Food portions are small more so tapas. The lamb empanadas are a hit! The steak is about 3oz and the corn was awesome, great pickled flavor!

Amazing food, amazing drinks. I’m on an eternal quest for perfect duck, and I may have found it here. The dish had so many layers of flavor that every bite was a different experience. I walked away with two regrets from this experience: I spent 3 nights at the Eldorado Hotel and only ate here on the last night, and (2) I didn’t save room for any of the amazing-sounding deserts on the menu. The wait staff was professional, friendly, and courteous. I can’t recommend this place highly enough.

Well my review isn’t one of a fine dinning experience because I was never given the chance to experience the food. My wife and I are celebrating 23 years of marriage on May 4th and its our tradition to dine at Geronimos on canyon road but I thought i would try something different and decided on agave. I called 3 times and left a message each time one week in advance to make a reservation and ask a few questions, which is why I didn’t reserve a table online and my call was never returned. I called on May the 3rd and finally someone answered the phone but I was told he couldn’t make me a reservation but took my name and number and assured me I would be contacted later that evening and it never happened. I truly regret my decision to even consider this establishment because if this is how inept and uncaring their customer service is I can only imagine what kind of negligent and grotesque practices are going on in the kitchen!!!!!
