Dreaded Nerd
Let me start off by saying our first experience here was terrible. I left a review and someone responded asking to send an email in about my visit. I did just that on the same night…I never received a response. Obviously irritating because it seems that it’s just for show, so that people feel more comfortable about bad reviews. It leaves people with the impression that bad experiences are taken care of. Against better judgment, me and my family decided to come once again. Please someone tell me why for the love of God there is so much grease in a quesadilla? On top of that, why does one half have little to no steak? More grease than steak is definitely something I want to pay $10 for. What’s bad is I want to love this place. They took away our Tijuana Flats who had the best service, best food, best people. This is the closest thing to the freshness you’d expect from there and it doesn’t come close. I’d love for someone to reach out that actually cares about customer service and not just blowing out smoke screens. I should give less than 3, but my wife and daughters food wasn’t nearly as bad as mine seemed to be so I’m trying to be fair.

We usually have great experiences at Surcheros, but we went to this location around 8 and the staff was already trying to shutdown the restaurant, even trying to force us to leave with to go trays and bags. There were a number of people that kept coming in and the staff continued to pick up tables and push them to the side where guests weren’t able to sit and had to stand. I understand trying to pick up during a slow part before closing, but this was ridiculous hosting by the staff. The staff also continued to not fill pick up orders that were coming in and falling all over the counter and the food. Sad shift

It was very inappropriate to see the servers grabbing the food with their hand wearing the same glove that has touched everything, including the trash bin, no spoons. Very dirty kitchen display. The rice was stale, and there were flies all over the kitchen. And to pay it took like 40 minutes and they wouldn’t give the food, there was a big line of food in the counter waiting to be given to costumers. They need more knowledge on the cleanliness of a restaurant and definitely more staff to help get it clean.

I ordered last evening through the door dash and it’s one of the best taco salads I’ve had. Fresh!!! Also, having the option to pick your protein, veggies, etc, is a plus! We thoroughly enjoyed it and will go into the restaurant to dine

We had high hopes. But in the end it just lacked flavor. We order a grilled burrito to our usual specs, and a salad in the same way. Both were just worse than meh. It didn’t make sense. But maybe it’s just not in our palette. Java Burrito closer to town was much better for a similar concept.

This was my first time ever going to a surcheros. I heard good things about it so I decided to try it out. From the time I walked in until the time I left I was very disappointed. My fiancé and I both ordered bowls and were immediately told that they only have chicken and ground beef. That was fine we both got chicken. The area where all of the food is kept was disgusting. My fiancé wanted corn pico and they were out of that as well. The girl making our bowls had her hair falling out and very unkept. We continued to order having faith the rest of the experience would be better. The area behind the counter was so nasty with food thrown everywhere. We got to the register and waited for 5 minutes for someone to come check us out. There was no one behind us but people just ignored the fact that we were at the counter. Then we get to the salsa station and there was only one kind of salsa. Then I go to make our drink and see mold on the ice chute. Both my fiancé and I have worked in multiple restaurants and know that you get busy and run out of things but the combination of every issue made it the last time we will ever visit a surcheros. I wish we would have gone to moes where it’s always a good experience.

My recent visit to Surcheros on Abercorn St. was underwhelming. Despite waiting in line, neither I nor the other customers were greeted or acknowledged by the employees. It was disheartening to feel ignored while they prioritized online orders. Customer service seemed to be of little concern to the workers. Improvements in acknowledging and attending to in-person customers would greatly enhance the dining experience at Surcheros.

Food was great !! But the only reason I gave 3 stars was because the employees seemed to have attitudes , and almost everyone there seemed stressed and lost .. I also think they should try to keep things stocked up for customers such as lids , and mini cups to go for the salsa , etc.. and the tea should’ve been changed because you can tell it was old. This was my very first time ever eating here and my experience was ok. I do plan on coming again hopefully next time is better !!!
