I wanted to love it, but it was okay. My cousins and I ordered a variety of things so that we could try a spread. The soul rollls were really good and so were the wings. The salmon has a delicious glaze, and the catfish was crispy. However, the fried king crab was not worth it, nor was the lobster Mac and cheese… or the regular Mac and cheese… you could get better mac from chic fil a Server was great, just prepare for your gratuity to be automatically added to your bill.

Came here to support a black owned business. Got here pretty early around 12:30 (they open at 12 on Sunday). Walked straight in. The vibe was nice and looked presentable. We Had a party of 5. The wait for the food wasn’t long. The food looked incredible, but unfortunately it wasn’t giving (as the kids say).

Food was delicious! Drink (lemon drop) was strong and good. Long wait, but good vibes and good service from our waitress. The lobster gumbo with grits is amazing. Big food portions and good prices. I will return!

I wanted to love this place, I had been waiting to go for months. I picked up dinner to go…noted the $32 Gratuity. While I was served immediately upon entry, the bartender disappeared and multiple customers came and left after waiting with no acknowledgement. There were 2 parties seated and 1 couple at the bar. The murals are beautiful.

The food was good, great portion size, but the wait once you order is ridiculous. It took almost 2 hours to get our food. The Staff / Waiter was nice and great service.

So this was our 2nd time visiting the goodz the 1st time. The wait was too long. This time we walked right in and sat. Our waitress was amazing. She let us know food is cook to order so it would be a min. We understood. That’s cool. We get our food about 45-1hr later. All of our food was cold. I mean every dish. I had lamb chop Mac and sweet potatoes. The bone of the lamb chop it self was even cold cold. The yams tasted like they were cooked for 7 hours. So super tuff. My Wife had lobster. Her lobster was fried very very hard. She only ate one. Cuz it was so hard. At the end of the day. Everything that look good is not good. That’s what I realized after going here. I’m from Detroit myself so I was trying to be supportive and begged my ppl to go with me. But not so good experience. I hop things can get better. Good luck.

The location is setup somewhat like a club. You have to wait in line outside for entry. We arrived right at 12p and it opened at 1230p so we didn’t have to wait long. I ordered the lobster tail & gumbo grits and my friend & I shared salmon croquettes. There is no a la carte ordering so we just had a whole extra plate for the croquettes.. The lobster tail was fried to perfection but the grits were lackluster. They need some salt & a bit more seasoning period. The shrimp in the gumbo gravy was a bit overcooked. The mimosa was good but I ordered that since they were out of their lemonade. The kool-aid was good. Overall, it was a decent experience. I’d like to return to try their lunch/dinner menu.

Sooo.. I missed brunch and wanted to try the day party…. the food bad… so the mac &cheese tasted sour like they used to much sour cream or Gouda cheese it was really sour. My friend’s shrimp basket was bland and my other friends catfish nuggets was just ok. I’ll try one more time cause they are black owned … our server paid more attention to the party of 8 even though we were a party of 3 and still brought a bottle and had a section and brought food. We spent over 100 a piece.

I wanted to love this place but my chances of returning are slim…. first of all they had RED KOOLAID and I was in heaven (it’s not on the menu though). The drinks were great, candied yams were amazing, fried catfish and shrimp were delish, and the fried lobster tail was great (heavily breaded though). The bartender we had was super sweet and attentive the entire time and our food came out in a timely manner, so I can’t complain about the service. I appreciate the hookah service but $36 for hookah seemed a tad bit high (I’m no hookah pro so maybe that’s a fair price).

First and foremost please do not pay any attention to the negative ratings for this place! This is definitely a 5-Star establishment. I follow the owner on IG and couldn’t wait to try this spot! The food and service that my husband and I had this weekend was phenomenal! We went during Brunch time. There are different menus. They’re gonna have a full house so expect a wait and bring your coins. We were able to walk right in and sit at the bar (FAVOR lol) The food is next level! If you want something basic and inexpensive go to IHOP or something because this ain’t that! I had the Kangz and Grits and hubby had the Lobster Gumbo Grits and we were very satisfied! The mimosas and drinks were great! 20% gratuity is included in the ticket already for those of yall that don’t like to tip lol….I highly recommend! And will definitely be back!
