My field peas, rice/gravy and cornbread were very good but the pork wasn’t tender. My family got fried chicken and okra which was cooked in old oil. They really need to give the place a good cleaning.

My husband and I stopped in Evergreen before continuing with the rest of our trip and checked for “restaurants near me”. Sweet P’s was the first choice for us and it was the best decision! Upon entering you are greeted warmly, like family, and every single person there took the time to smile and say hello.

Just a couple of minutes off the highway, definitely better than hitting any of the fast food stuff. home cooked meal, excellent fried chicken and seriously the best peas/beans combo I’ve ever eaten! Chef said the secret is in the beans. 😉

Excellent food! I had the veggie plate: perfect Lima beans, delicious greens, rice, and fried okra. Momma had meatballs and gravy. If you’re driving I65 between Mobile and Montgomery at lunchtime, take exit 83. You won’t be disappointed!
