The Black Cat has a Bistro/Tavern type atmosphere. Available seating is inside or outside weather permitting. The food is excellent. Our waitress was exceptional and the experience was fun and relaxing.

Me and my wife came here in the early afternoon. The service was good and the restaurant itself was clean and comfortable. The food left much to be desired. We got a chicken sandwich which my wife enjoyed, however, I ordered the 4 cheese Mac and cheese with steak which is a 28 dollar dish. The Mac and cheese tasted like it came from a box and the steak didn’t even taste seasoned, as well as being chewy. Maybe it was a bad day for the cooks but I wouldn’t recommend this to anybody. You can get much better food for a much better price. Parking can also be a hassle.

Black Cat Bistro was wonderful! Everyone at my table LOVED their food. The food arrived fast and our waitress was fantastic. We sat outside on the patio and it was perfect! The location was great. Sitting outside was relaxing. We were not annoyed with a lot of noise and traffic. I highly recommend it.

A nicer spot for some decent food. Notably, we went during the summer months, outside the standard school year. It was very easy to get in and the service was great. Their interior space is dark and calming while the exterior patio has some great outdoor seating. Our meals felt somewhat standard for the price, but they were delicious nonetheless.

I’ve been here for dinner and the food was really good, which is why lunch was so disappointing. We were a party of 7 and our server didn’t write anything down, so of course some of the orders were wrong. A lot of my fries were burnt on my plate. There was only our party and another group who had 2 active toddlers and yet it was thought to be a good idea to pin us all next to each whole the rest of the place remained empty. Very disappointing.

Everything was good, the menu is diverse, but our French culette came out well done instead of medium like we ordered. It still tasted good and wasn’t too tough so we still ate it but that was a little disappointing. Our waiter never came back to ask if we were enjoying our food either. The mashed potatoes and the sauce it came with were divine. The appetizer (Brie and mushroom bruschetta) was really good as well.

The wait from ordering to food when food came out was almost an hour and if they would have been busy I could have understood that. The sad thing was that the eggs were cold, the French toast was undercooked to the point my child could not eat it as can be seen in the picture, there was no brulee with that French toast. I was really disappointed. I did not say anything because I did not want to wait another hour for food. Waitress was nice though never refilled our waters nor offered an explanation why food took so long.

Sunday brunch. Not a lot of options but good choices. I got the breakfast burrito. I would have liked salsa with this. Not an option. Had a good flavor. I wanted it a little spicier.

Food was just ok. Quality and presentation definitely does not match the price point, that’s the biggest dock. The Truffle mac with chicken was bland and meat dry. The French Coulette cut was cooked as requested, but served with bland potatoes and undercooked beans. I cant speak on their breakfast & lunch items, but recommend an anniversary dinner in EL elsewhere…

Overall, the food was really good and the service was ok. I ordered a harvest salad, which was supposed to have red onions…it had white onions(which i don’t like), so I picked them off and the salad was great. The lemon maple dressing was amazing. Creamy tomato basil soup was very good but not very hot. I loved the cheese sauce on the potatoe skins, but they were a little skimpy with the bacon. I would come back if I’m in the area.
