If you are in Sacramento this is a place you should visit. The entrees were not just a great price, huge but also amazing. The Garlic Steak sandwich and French Dip are must have. We weren’t big fans of the steak cut style calamari. It tasted good but just not what we’re used. We went on a Monday afternoon and they were somewhat busy. I don’t know what they are like during a lunch, dinner rush or on the weekends but I can imagine they might be pretty busy. They’re right off the highway and are easy to miss so look for the green awning. Overall it was a great experiencing and will visit again the next time we’re in Sacramento. I’m certain my friends from Stockton, who joined us, will be returning.

I have loved this place from the first time I walked through the door. There is something so special about it. And I know that the food will be delicious every time and the drinks are made perfectly. The chicken Ceasar salad was delicious and so simple. No matter what I order, it’s made exactly how I hope it will taste.

We always come here for the Garlic steak sandwich. It’s delicious. It comes with 2 small sandwiches so sometimes we will share. It’s still plenty of food. This last time I got the fish and chips and they were amazing. The fish has like a panko coating and was so crispy. The homemade tartar sauce complimented the fish perfectly. There were 4 pieces which I couldn’t finish.

Some call it a hidden gem. It’s definitely a hole in the wall, in a shakey part of town.. Didn’t even know about the lot in the back. Food was good (a little greasy/salty), but prices were fair. Service was great. Bar was full, making the restaurant area loud and hard to talk. Will go again.

This place is a true gem. The Garlic Steak Sandwich is a 7 day process, and you can tell. They were featured in Guy Fieri’s Dinner’s, Drive-In’, and Dive’s for a reason (to which end, you can watch that garlic steak making process online). The portions are good sized and the drinks are stiff.

If you’ve never been, visit Jaimes Bar and Grill for award winning Clam Chowder and Steak Sammy. All the food is well made and to your preference. I have not had a disappointing meal at Jaimes and been going for years. It’s an established eaterie with excellent food and service.
