We were in that no man’s land of I-80 PA and about to settle on a big chain when we saw the sign for the Morris Family Restaurant. It’s an unassuming building between a gas station and a Motel 6 a d had a small neon “open” sign in the window.

A nice place to get some standard American fare. Not too fancy. When we were there they were short on help, so service was not quick. It was very odd how my family got our food piecemeal, a little at a time, instead of all together. I was mostly done eating before my wife and daughter got theirs.

Feel like the quality of the food has gone down a bit over the years but still a nice family restaurant with a wide variety and affordable prices for families. Friendly and courteous wait staff. Gave 3 stars instead of 4 as my mom was unable to eat the gravy fries she ordered as a side – tasted like soapsuds in bottom of dish or something. Broccoli salad used to have more soaked in dressing and taste. I typically order their open faced turkey sandwich with gravy over fries. Atmosphere like typical older diner.

Okay, this was a tough one to rate. It was a cute diner with friendly employees. My biscuits & gravy were excellent. Loved the gravy. I was given an option to not have onions & pepper in my home fries. So I said please no for neither. What I got was what looked like potatoes that had onions & peppers still in it but had a lot scraped off. It felt like a mistake that was poorly fixed. The red potato home fries did taste good, though I had to pick through my food to get onion & peppers out. The bathroom was clean. I had to ask twice for a fill-up on my coffee, though. So it was a good place to eat but felt like mistakes were made.

My friends and I eat here at least once a month. The food is very good. I have had the Meatloaf, the Liver and Onions, the ” Piggies ” Stuffed Cabbage, the Stuffed Peppers, the Pork Chops, the Smoked Pork Chops The Hot Roast Beef Sandwich and the Baked Fish. All are very good. The Smoked Pork Chops were excellent, but they are only a special that is offered occasionally. The standard go to dish for our group is the Baked Fish which is excellent.

There were 3 seating areas. Lots of tables, area we sat in was quiet. No noise to have to speak over.. Comfortable tables and chairs. Clean. Restrooms were large enough for wheelchairs. Sister said coffee was very good.
