We love going here, especially on Game Day. We sit at the bar where we can comfortably watch the game while eating good food. They have the Brisket Queso and it’s so delicious.

Tried this place on the way home from Beaumont. The Monday special is pretty awesome. They take chicken fajitas and cover them in a white wine cilantro cream sauce while throwing in some scallops and shrimp. It’s served with all the fixings. Not bad at all.

Salsa was bland to us.. tacos were greasy .. beans were good. The fajita meat inside the enchilada was OK.. not sure which was more boring the waiter or the rice. One no flavor.. he other no personality. We had the Laredo plate. At 17.. was about the cheapest plate on the menu.. probably won’t return.. don’t see what others see in it..

First time trying this place today. Atmosphere and decor were pretty nice. Service was mediocre and while the food was hot and delicious it lacked the amount of meat you’d except you are paying for. I ordered the chicken Diablos plate with 6 jalapeños and 6 tiny pieces of chicken in the middle of each one. I’d have to guess they were less than half an ounce of meat in each jalapeño and paid $20 for that plate. Would have been better off ordering fajitas.

I think it was fantastic! Beef Fajitas were the best I’ve ever had. The chicken Fajitas come with a garlic butter, use it on the beef too. Pork carnitas were great.The beans…hubby had refried, i had charro they like ranch style beans, Chips and salsa were perfect. Salsa served warm. If you like hot ask for the habenaro salsa. The avacado green salsa is wangy but delicious. Chips perfect! The tortillas were nice, fluffy and perfect size! The Sopapillas come piled on a plate sprinkled with cinnamon and powdered sugar. I suggest ordering without the cinnamon, as it’s very strong and bitter, also ask for honey! Lots of yummy drinks to choose from at a beautifully stocked bar. Brittanie was our waitress & she was great. She kept our glasses full & our chips and salsa!

Me and my girlfriend showed up to the restaurant around 6pm. Place was packed out. People waiting outside and inside for seating. Walked in and spoke to the hostess for a table of 2, it was a 20 to 25 minute wait. We agreed and began to wait to get called for our table. However, we wanted some drinks while we waited. Alas, two spots at the bar opened up while we waited to order drinks. So me and my girlfriend sat down and got comfy. The bartender acknowledged us right away. Asked us our drink order and if we wanted any appetizers. We ordered a shiner bock on draft, house frozen margarita and a queso blanco. We accidently received a queso flameado with chorizo and pico de gallo in it. Which we didnt know at first wasn’t what we ordered. So we started eating it. It was delicious. Comes with flower tortillas. The bartender came back around and notices we got the wrong chesse and told us right away we would not get charged for the mistake(Which we didnt). All that put aside the entrées ordered we the ahí tuna tacos with charro beans and the beef short rib carne guisada with black beans and flour tortillas. Food hit the mark and was delicious. Both me and my companion enjoyed everything Red river cantina had to offer us. We ordered another round of drinks. I got another shiner draft and she got a grand gold margarita. Drinks hit the spot. Would definitely recommend going to this restaurant and enjoying the atmosphere and everything it has to offer. You might experience a wait time but it’s worth it the food is a little pricey for being a Mexican restaurant but overall a great time.

This was my 2nd time to eat at Red River and I LOVED it just as much as the first! I swear, the brisket enchiladas where made specifically for ME! They are my favorite! And the fajita steak nachos and chicken fajita quesadilla on the sampler are both amazing! The watermelon margarita was sooooo good and refreshing, and I don’t even like margaritas! I have never had anything here that I didn’t absolutely love. It is all so good. Today we had Carlos as our server and he was the best, super sweet and attentive. We will be asking for him specifically on our next visit!!

There are terrible reviews on this place, so I avoided it for a while. We decided to try it out for a business lunch and I was amazed. The quality of food is excellent, the service is on par and the atmosphere is nice. My guess is the bad reviews stem from when they first opened and were still finding their way.
