We went for the cod fish and chips. We were happy to find that they are thick-cut pieces in light batter. They weren’t too greasy and they give you a nice portion. The fries were curled slices and were really good. They weren’t too busy at the time but service was excellent. The restaurant has a nice outside deck area, and plenty of seating inside. Really good!

The Chowder Bowl came highly recommended by the front desk clerk at our hotel. It was in a quaint part of town right by the beach and walking distance from our hotel. The food was amazing, the service was lightning fast, and the staff extremely friendly. We got a bowl of chowder to share, I got the fish tacos with mango salsa, and hubby got the fish and chips. The fries were unique and delicious. There wasn’t anything we didn’t like about this place and highly recommended it. With two lemonades and tip, we spent a total of $55.

I searched Google and found it because of the high ratings. The clam chowder soup here was really good. The croissant sandwich with plenty of shrimp was also very fresh and delicious without the fishy smell. The hamburger patties were also juicy. As the customers continued to come in, the restaurant seemed obvious.

In comparison, this was such a better picture experience than Mo’s, which we had the day before. We kept true to everything we ordered before. Our Calamari appetizer was bigger, not burnt, and better. Our fish and chips were better. Their chowder is more seafood and tasty salty chowder than just a potato soup. We were served constantly and our glasses never became empty. The chefs even come out on occasion to check on guests. Overall, we will be driving extra for our seafood restaurant experience from now on.

Ordered the full chowder bowl with shrimp to take out and eat overlooking the beach. Service was so kind, they made sure I had everything I needed. The chowder was the best I had the whole trip. All around lovely experience.

Food was excellent! I had fish tacos everything was fresh. Hubby had captains platter which was also really good. Coffee was amazing. Server could have been a little more friendly but maybe she was having an off day? She just seemed irritated.

This place was amazing! Everything the reviews said it would be. The atmosphere is very family friendly. Our waitress was awesome. The prices are so much more reasonable than a lot of places around. We all left very happy. I don’t mind spending money when you leave a place satisfied. We will visit every time we go to the beach from now on!

Great outdoor dining experience! We love The Chowder Bowl so much. The service is fast and friendly and the food is exactly what you want after playing hard all day at Nye Beach. The clam chowder is a cut above the other guys. The sourdough bread bowls have a crumb and texture that you just don’t find. Kudos to the bakery turning these out.

Best place for chowder in Newport. Food is fresh, prepared quickly, and served hot, and you can’t beat the view if you dine at Nye Beach. Skip the crowds at the more popular places and stop in here. Highly recommend the garlic and onion cheese bread, fish and chips, and, of course, the clam chowder.

The staff there were very welcoming with our three dogs. We have a 5 lb. a 10 lb. and a 57 lb. dog and they gave us a big enough table to seat the three of us along with our three dogs. They had water bowls out and a waitress even brought one close to our girls to reach. The food was delicious and the service was great. We had the sourdough bowl with clam chowder, it was an excellent choice and then we got the seafood platter and our daughter got the shrimp and chips. She loved it. The seafood platter had fried shrimp, we traded out the deep fried oyster for a fish stick, and they had seafood cocktail shrimp. Great day, great weather, great service from the staff.
