Old diner near downtown Ottawa. Came here for brunch time because they have breakfast served all day. Heidi our server was friendly and brought our food out in a timely manner. OJ was good. The ham & cheese omelette was good (friend ate it). I had their cinnamon French toast combo meal. (Kid approved, as my son ate most of my French toast). Eggs were cooked well. My son had the chocolate chip pancake but he wasn’t a fan of the whipped cream. He is used to traditional kind (in the can), this was more of a buttercream whip cream. Affordable and tasty meals. Good family restaurant.

Excellent. The food is dreamworthy it’s that good. The staff is helpful, friendly, and kind. And the owner is generally on site working. The gyro is phenomenal. I can’t believe I’m saying this but even the liver and onions were perfect, tender, and tasty. And the cinnamon French toast…dang it now I’m hungry again. I can’t wait to come back here. I believe everything is made in house. I know the ranch and soups are for sure. Both Excellent. And the gyro meat is on a giant spit in the back. The restaurant is perfectly named it was for certain the best food and bright spot I’ve had in ages but for sure this trip. We ate at starved rock lodge this trip, forget it. The drive to bright spot is worth it and it’s a fraction of the cost and the food is three times as good. Bright spot even offers senior menu selections. A restaurant that cares and is amazing. I only wished I lived closer.

We stopped at this diner after leaving Starved Rock. It’s easy to find and they serve breakfast all day. We were there on a week day, so the crowd was mostly local senior citizens and it wasn’t busy so we were seated right away. It’s pedestrian fare at best and it’s disappointing that they can’t even get diner food right.

So I read the reviews and wasn’t expecting it to be great…. But c’mon mannnn. Order Belgium waffles for my wife, it’s just a plain thick rubbery waffle (threw it away). Micky mouse pancakes for the kid, it’s a plain pancake with 3 pieces of old hard canned pineapple. Farmers skillet was alright lots of cheese but very greasy and potatoes were extra dry, bacon was hard and chewy. Staff was nice and all but I’ll never eat here again, waste of money.

Usually get breakfast food no matter the time of day I come here but a few months back I went here and decided to get an Italian beef. The Italian beef was super thick and the Texture was off plus the cheese wasn’t melted. Other then that I have had pretty decent times here. But there was this one time when I had this one server that was pushy and was trying to get me to order fast and finish my food fast. I didn’t leave her a tip and the next time I came there she had the nerve to get rude with me.
