We visited the Peekskill, NY Pastels for the past two years while on vacation for just about every breakfast/brunch. Great customer service and the waiters definitely acknowledge their regulars and customers such as us when visiting by the next day. The food is good but this year there seemed to be a little less of portions served as compared to last year. Other than that we always look forward for when we get up to go get breakfast/brunch to come to this place. The bathroom could have been a little bit better since there was very little toilet paper. Overall, I recommend this place.

Excellent service and vibe, easy parking, cozy design, clean, friendly and professional. Food portions are generous and the price is right! Such tasty fries. I loved the staff and my server was helpful, attentive, accurate and sweet. Coffee was not great – would be amazing if they served Vassilaros coffee (often used by diners and so good.) They also had wifi!

If you like diners, this is the diner for you. This place achieves exactly the vibe I look for in a diner. It hits all the important points: quick (but friendly) service, a solid, no-frills menu, and good food. The price is reflective of the atmosphere, which is great in this case. We overlooked this place for a whole because it’s kind of hidden in the strip, but will be returning now that I’ve experienced it.

Reviews can be quite deceiving. We came here for breakfast and was extremely disappointed. The Balboa tasted old and flavorless. The Corned Beef Hash tasted as if it was poured out of a can and placed on to the plate with poorly seasoned home fries. Even the coffee tasted terrible. We left leaving most of the food on our plates. The waitress was nice and quick, just wished the food would have been decent.

Hidden gem in the strip mall. Their cheese omelette had a great amount of cheese and they’re coffee was fresh. Would definitely come back to try the other items in their menu.

Very pleasant diner in a shopping center. Wait staff was friendly and polite. Not very busy for a work day at 0800. Food was tasty and timely served.

Had given a good review in the past. Have to change now. Do not go here within 2 hours of their claimed closing time. They almost invariably close much earlier than the posted hours, so it is inadvisable to depend upon them being open at any given time.
