Amazing little neighborhood spot! I’m so glad I found it. I’m gluten and dairy free and they were so accommodating and generous (they turned my single sandwich into a double, gratis, without my asking!) I thoroughly enjoyed the Au jus sandwich (on a gluten free roll). The chips were yummy, the owner was super nice and the ambience is sweet and lovely. Love the local art and wares available for sale as well. This place has a lot of heart, and very tasty food. I’ll definitely be back again!

This is the reason I take the roads less traveled. Parallel to I-70 in Ellicott City, MD on MD-144 is the Fox and Barrel Farm Cafe. This small locally owned and operated Cafe offers homemade truly farm fresh meals with unique twists to your favorite recipes with fresh vegetables, herbs and spices. So many choices. Rolling Stones playing on the radio, friendly service, so glad I doubled back.

First, I was just driving by and caught a glimpse for what we thought was a food place and hung a u-turn to go back and see. Went in, and it had a nice but small setting with outside seating area. Ordered food, they offer breakfast and lunch, once ordered, found a seat and waited, waited, and waited but then finally the food came out and you’d better have a good appetite cause the food we ordered was LARGE!!! Well worth the wait when we almost questioned leaving, so don’t go here in a rush to eat and go!!! The food ordered was Delishious and will be going again, knowing not to be in a rush.

This litter Cafe was a neat place to stop for our brunch as we traveled from PA to FL. We enjoyed talking with the staff. The atmosphere was pleasant and had a warm feeling even though it was raining and sleeping. Our sandwiches were made fresh and their homemade chips were really good. The coffee was locally roasted. If you get near this little café, stop in and enjoy your meal!

What a cute cozy local little place. The food was great but a little greasy. I don’t mind fat if it’s good quality fat like avocado, tallow or olive oil. But most restaurants probably use canola or vegetable oil, which is very inflammatory to the body. Anyhow, it’s still very good and the eggs were cooked to perfection. The coffee was okay, wouldn’t order that again. The service was very nice and friendly. The cook/owner chatted with us for a bit and even shared tips on how to cook the eggs. Overall, it was a great experience and would definitely go back.

I want to give a shout out to the Fox and Barrel Farm Cafe. I stopped in for brunch on a weekday and ordered a breakfast burrito and coffee. The burrito was really BIG and DELICIOUS!! Service was excellent. Most notable, perhaps, is that the place has LOCAL flavor and is the kind of small business that should be supported and treasured. The owner redesigned the interior and did the labor himself, and he did a great job. And it’s NOT in a strip mall.

Cute little cafe! I enjoyed the avocado toast and my husband had the French toast. Both were delicious and had great portion sizes. He had a latte and I had a chai latte, which was one of the better chai lattes I’ve had in a while! The staff was friendly and attentive. We will definitely be back to try more dishes here.

Tasty food that was clearly made with thought and care. Small seating area and an outdoor area, all meals have vegan sausage alternatives which were tasty. Coffee was tasty but incredibly hot; it came in a to-go cup, so I was able to drink it after we left when it cooled a bit. Friendly staff, attentive and great at anticipating people’s needs. Would definitely return; generous portions at a fair price, with food to accommodate many different diets without sacrificing one bit of flavor.

Cute small cafe, unfortunately our experience was ruined by poor service.

Don’t miss out on this quaint little restaurant painted fire engine red on corner of Triadelphia and Frederick Road. I visited a few times and enjoyed the shrimp po boy, shrimp Tostada, and the breakfast bowl – all outstanding. The tostada is pictured with an amazing fresh baked scone. They have a bakery section that is worthy of a visit all on its own. About 10 tables inside but also great place for take out – oh and they have outdoor patio for nice weather days. Lots of vegan and vegetarian options. Closed Monday and Tuesday and only open 9-6.
