La Cevicheria is a great local GEM ! We were greeted as soon as we entered and our order was taken the moment we decided. We had the fish & shrimp tacos and we started with the special of the day that consisted of a smoked marlin tostada which was super tasty; the tacos were delicious as well.

Indulge in a gastro-gasmic adventure at this hidden gem, where patience pays off. While you may have to wait long for a table at this cozy establishment (or better yet, visit during non-lunch hours on weekdays), you’ll be rewarded with an exquisite selection of the most authentic Guatemalan ceviches in LA. Their menu also boasts an array of tantalizing Latin American seafood dishes, such as aguachiles, mejillones al mono de ajo, pescado Veracruzano, and shrimp curry. Don’t let the unassuming exterior fool you; this hole-in-the-wall spot is an absolute must-visit for any food lover! And of course those Chapines craving the ceviche de concha negra from home

I have been coming for over a decade now, very simple menu that holds the perfect touch as far as seafood is concerned. Great food is an understatement to the flavor and quality of their dishes. Oh and it’s also an Michelin Award recipient. Small place, simple menu, amazing food. Cash only.

What an experience! Owner/chef greeted us right when we walked in, such a warm and welcoming environment. Walked us through the menu and let me tell you this guy was made to do this! Amazing personality to match his amazing food. Full of life, colors and flavors! Also the home made habanero salsa is delicious. We ordered the aguachiles, fish tacos, CHAPIN ceviche was the tables favorite and the caribena mariscadas was full of flavor and right amount of spice. Can’t wait to go back, one of the best food/restaurant experiences we had in a long time.

The Burrito De Pescado. I love the crunchy fish, avocado and rice combination, but the Habanero sauce and lime is essential to complete the plate. Must like it hot!

Can way out of my way to tey this place, I was hoping to really love it because they have blood clams and those are not easy to come by, but I didn’t like it. The Aguachiles were Chile purees not an agua and it was not spicy at all, not limey at all and it wasn’t cold, which makes me wonder where the shrimp were sitting are they holding the seafoods at right Temps? It was all luke warm. Won’t be coming back.

I ate here a year ago. For whatever reason my review didnt show up. Well no worries being the meal lives in my memory as being one of the most ludicrous meals I have been served. The sandwich was terrible. Like mashed up left iver tuna, but it waa supposed to be “high end ” pork. The ceviche tacos were worse. Had an after taste that stuck to your mouth in a bad way. Left 90% of it on the plate. Repeatedly aaked for the bill so we could just leave this mess. Ignored, ignored again. Had to get up to walk out to get them inrerested in pickpocketing us because that is how it felt the food was that bad. Then they asked if we liked it. I just lookes at them and walked out. Does my plate look like I liked it? My partner said no it was terrible. Waiter got stroppy like if he refuses our answer hard enough he might suddendly be right. My guess is they pay writers to give them props. All I tasted was false ego.

I have to give this place a single star otherwise my review would not be uploaded. The single star is because I witness a mistreatment upon a waitress at this place. I witness the way the so called owner ( not Julio or Carolina who were amazing human beings) screamed at the waitress without any reason, the waitress was so embarrassed for the way she was talked to in front of us but she kept working not loosing her posture.
