Enjoyed a fantastic meal here. The 16 oz Heart of Iowa Sirloin Steak was flawlessly cooked to a medium-rare, and the garden salad was delightful with its fresh lettuce and crisp veggies. The cocktails were well-crafted and complemented the meal perfectly. The staff were both attentive and engaging, making my bar seat experience memorable.

My husband and I decided to take a chance on Keller’s as we live about 10 minutes away. I ordered a medium-rare steak and received a charred overpriced piece of meat. When I mentioned it to my server I was told the manager could give me 10% off my meal. The outside of the steak was complete burnt. We do not mind paying for quality but this was ridiculous. More than likely we will not return which is unfortunate because we live so close and would have loved to find a new spot near home to enjoy a meal. Very unhappy.

Overall 2 stars. My drink was not very good at all (definitely well alcohol but at top shelf prices). Partner liked his drink. Ordered Portobello fries as I have always loved the ones at Ambros, back in Iowa. However, 3 of them were undercooked (I had bitten one & found out, the partner did the same, then the last one I cut up & knew better). I did tell the waiter & he apologized. Staff that seated us was very friendly & talkative. Waiter was the same & very personable. Definitely no issues with staff that we interacted with. All friendly & attentive. Table was super sticky. Actually all the tables in the area we were in, were sticky & should have had a table cloth or paper on them. Definitely need to improve on the quality of food at those prices. I heard a table of 6 next to us have a few food complaints as well.

The cajun shrimp and adouille sausage over pasta with Alfredo sauce fell very short of expectations for this class of restaurant. The shrimp was perfectly cooked but it’s the cajun style of sauce that was so dearly missing. Straight Alfredo truly isn’t the answer.

Made a reservation on OpenTable, it was confirmed in an email. When I called the host to confirm he did not have the reservation so he made another one. When we got there they had no reservation at all. Sat at the bar, bartender was busy but rather snippity. Ordered a rail old-fashioned and she said Jim Beam? I said no rail but she still gave me Jim Beam in a little rocks glass at the cost of $15.75. Crockpot French onion soup was awful. Coconut shrimp came with cocktail sauce which was odd. Garlic mashed had an odd sour flavor as if something was spoiled. Deep-fried Portobello’s were good. Caesar salad okay. Staff seems disheveled and untrained. When we left my husband used the restroom and the urinal was full of vomit. Yikes…
