I wish I could add more stars. Me and my girlfriend had Valentine’s day dinner here and it was easily one of the best meals that we’ve ever had. The space is gorgeous, the fact that most of the food/beverages are locally sourced is mind blowing, and the staff are an easy 10/10. Our server Alexa was very knowledgeable and personable and catered us eloquently throughout the night with well timed check-ins and more! Everyone else that helped us were superb and it was some of the most efficient and relaxing staff we’ve ever seen. We both work in good service and know that it’s not easy, yet this staff were like a well oiled machine and made it look flawlessly easy. Our whole dinner was planned out and courses were coming out just when we were ready, which is no doubt the cause of great communication between the kitchen and the servers. We wish we could thank the chefs personally as much as we praised the front of house staff. This place is amazing and our only regret is not tipping more! We will definitely be back and tell everyone about it in the meantime, and thank you for taking such good care of us on a special night!

Fantastic place. The wait staff were prompt, friendly and courteous. My fiancee and I were celebrating our engagement tonight and they pulled out all the stops for us! Complimentary white wine, a candle with our dessert and genuine congratulations from everyone serving us helped make this already special day even more so! Not to mention the food. We’ve been here before and the menu changes every so often, keeping things fresh. The duck is to DIE FOR! Can’t go wrong with a night out at this fantastic restaurant. Four thumbs up.

Great farm to table restaurant in Utica and it brings a higher end restaurant to the area. The menu changes base on what is available at the market, but that makes the experience so much better. You never know what you’re getting, but you can bet that It’s going to be a good meal.

Yep. Reviews are correct. It is that good. Buttermilk fried chicken with a side of scallops. Service, food, atmosphere are top notch. A grand-slam. Not a “google” five star, a true five star experience.

We must share our brilliant experience of accidentally finding this restaurant while traveling back home from Niagara Falls. The food was exquisite, the chef deserves many stars. The team was courteous and very attentive. So all in all it is more than five stars. Thank you very much. It was so good that I saved this place in my google maps for the future.

I am from NYC and I have been to many of the higher-end establishments there. TATC does not rest on their laurels: The food is truly superb, and the staff’s training is apparent. My mother came with us the last time we went; She used to run a restaurant and always has a criticism at any place we go. Not so at TATC. It was one of the only times where she had no critique at all.

My wife and I were visiting Utica over the weekend and found this wonderful, gem of a restaurant. We had no reservations and the Hostess was kind enough to fit us in, as busy as they were. Terrific waiter, delicious food and all around comfortable setting. Can’t say enough about the experience. Thank you to everyone at The Tailor and the Cook for a great Saturday night.

This small tucked away place in downtown Utica is a must visit for anyone looking for a fine night of dinning. Everything on the table is locally sourced and the chef takes great care of all the ingredients to bring a great dish for the table. The service is phenomenal and they really know how to explain everything on the menu! The drinks were awesome too. 10/10!
