I lived in central Mexico for years. The tamales at Poblanita, (which means little gal from Puebla), are the solid, satisfying tamales I remember, a bowl of beans, a tamale and a drink and you have a good meal that sticks to your ribs for under $15. It’s located in a big noisy food court in the Mall, but I can pretend, if I close my eyes, that I am once again in a Mexican outdoor market. If you can spend a little more, I recommend the chicken enchiladas!

I live part time in San Diego & this is the most authentic SoCal taste you will find in Maine. They definitely don’t skimp on meat! Tacos burritos quesadillas, all awesome! Happy to see this local business growing!

I tried this place once and received the worst food poisoning of my life. They offer to pay you for a good review (why they have 4 stars). I got 3 tacos, at $5 a piece!? Already very expensive for what you are getting, i set high hopes as maybe quality would take play, it didn’t. I ate one taco as they were Burnt and not enjoyable. By that evening, i was throwing up everything in my system and even could not go into work the next day. Terrible, would not recommend.

Located in the Maine Mall, you’ll find this Mexican establishment in the food court area next to the restrooms. No, that was not an attempt to say you’ll need to use it after. They literally are the first restaurant right after the restroom area and next to a French fry place.

So, so good. I got a chicken empanada which was so toasty and delicious, with nice pulled chicken inside and potato. It came with a bright carrot and cabbage slaw- no mayo, more of a very light herbaceous vinaigrette. Husband got a steak burrito with yellow rice done right. And we loved it all so much we got another order to take home for tomorrow.

I ordered the enchiladas rojo and was warned that they are muy picante, so I opted for the enchiladas verde and they were delicious. I had a horchata to drink. Also delicious. Having just returned from a trip to Mexico, it was really nice to have authentic Mexican food.

I work in the Dana Warp Mill and we’ve been waiting for the Westbrook location to open. Worth the wait! I had the carne asada open bowl burrito and it’s Delicious! Everything is incredible, from the phenomenal rice, to the perfect tortilla chips, the seasoning in the beef is amazing. I’m so excited to finally have a killer local Mexican restaurant!

My partner and I found them when they had a taco truck on the Easterm prom. We were elated to see them come to the mall and now they have a location a few minutes from us in westbrook. Their tacos are awesome and some of the best in Maine. By far the tacos de birria are my favorite and my partner LOVES the al pastor tacos. They don’t skimp on the meat and the price is spot on.
