After spending a few years in Brooklyn New York learning all there is to learn about what a true Deli is, Owner Aleem brought his know how and the New York Style Deli/Bodega back home to the Great State of Texas, hence was born Gino’s Deli and hands down the best Philly Cheese Steak this side of Mississippi!!!!! From its humble beginnings as a small flat top serving a few customers a day it has grown in to a neighborhood institution and a North San Antonio Legend. The menu that once had just 5 items now boasts 25 including 10 home grown innovative sandwiches. Gino’s Deli has been ranked the best Deli in San Antonio every year since 2015 (Yelp), and the 65th best restaurant in United States (Yelp 2018).

The service at this place is amazing. The atmosphere is fun. This place is inside a convenience store, so it is relaxing. I ordered the double meat hamburger with cheese, and it was delicious. The meat was overflowing over the buns, and we received free chips and a drink!! My wife ordered the turkey sandwich and said it was enough for 2 meals. Great food at a good price point

This is legit one of the best spots in SA. Sandwiches were amazing; full of flavor and tasty. Service was beyond friendly and helpful. Jake helped us order and provided some recommendations. We ordered the smoke stack and dirty Derrick and they were both wonderful. Atmosphere was excellent. We will be coming back within the week to try other menu items. I will be telling all my buddies about this place.

Finally made my way in after driving past this place everyday and so happy I did! Service was great and folks there were incredibly friendly for my first visit. I got a Philly cheesesteak and an Italian sub and man were both good. I’ve missed a good Italian sub place after moving from chicago and this place is definitely it for me. Thank you Gino’s! From walking in the door to walking out, my experience at Gino’s was five stars. I walked in and was greeted. I let them know that it was my first time there and they walked me through the menu and gave me recommendations. I ordered 3 sandwiches and then they walked me over to the chips and drinks to pick those out too. When my food was ready the owner (i think) brought me my food, told me to come back if everything wasn’t perfect so they could fix it, and then complimented my shoes before i left. My husband, son, and I all sat down for dinner at home and absolutely devoured our sandwiches. The bread was delicious, the meats were flavorful, and everything was so well balanced. Everything was made exactly how we ordered it. We will definitely be back to try more sandwiches. My son said this is his favorite sandwich shop now!

This was my first time at Gino’s. I came based on the recommendations from others. The entire experience was amazing from start to finish. Jim was delightful to talk to. He made sure everyone was enjoying their food. My cheesesteak was the best I have had in San Antonio. I felt like I was visiting an old friend in their kitchen.
