Arrived at 6:30 pm on a Friday evening. Free city parking lot across the street. No wait for party of three. Great service. Food was delicious: steak salad, pork chops, chicken fried steak. Besides our personal side dishes, we shared a side of okra. Plenty of adult drinks to choose from.

Not a bad spot at all. Large bar if you want to sip a few cold ones. Service was a little slow and they weren’t crowded but our waiter was polite and made recommendations. The gourmet chicken fried steak it was a hit and can easily be split. Two ladies split one. The steaks were pretty good and it’s off of the main strip. You can easily shop and go it afterwards. This hole in the wall place has delicious food at at great price. Ok service, we wanted dessert but it took the waitress a long time to take that order. We passed on it at that point. Food was served fast, hot and yummy. I would recommend.

If you are looking for a Phenomenal place with great affordable food, good people and a welcoming atmosphere then the Hitchin’ Post Steakhouse is the place for you. We made a spontaneous stop that will now become our regular spot whenever we are in town. Wife had the cheese burger with an egg on it and fries, highly recommend. The patty was homemade and was delicious. I had their renowned chicken fried steak and let me tell you, it definitely lives up to its hype. Get the mash potatoes and paired with an ice cold shiner bock it is absolutely unmatched. Lisa was our server and should teach courses on how to be a stellar server because she sets the bar high for others. Overall, looking forward to coming back again….this time to get my own burger.

Amazed by the reviews. Perhaps we just had bad luck. NY steak had to be returned as it was super fatty. Sirloin was better but not great. Salmon was just fine.

Goodfood and service even at peak dinner time when it was extremely busy. The chicken fried steak was so good and the steamed veggies were really good too and dipped them in ranch! The wings came out pipping hot.

We were told by a local that they had the best chicken fried steak & fried okra in Tx. It was ok. Nothing special except for the SIZE of the big cf steak, which was enough for 3 meals. Flavor lacking in all the food we ordered. Waiter was 5 stars tho. Wish I could’ve caught his name.
