I had a really good nice sized beef brisket sandwich with Mac and cheese. The BBQ sauce was nice and not over powering. The Mac and cheese was nice and creamy, I did wish there was a bit more in the bowl. I tried someone’s fries and they were really good. Some places over salt their fries but these were nice and subtle. I will be going back to eat here next time I’m in Peoria.

This is definitely worth a try! I wish we lived closer than an hour and a half away. The service was exceptional. The ribs, brisket, rib tips and pork were all excellent. The BBQ sauce was a hit with the whole family. You don’t leave here hungry and you will leave with a smile! Make this a stop if you are anywhere close!

This was my first time going to this restaurant. My parents had been there before and we went on a Saturday afternoon. When we walked in, the blues were playing. There is cute decorations on the wall. Hailey, our server was very attentive. She was at our table frequently. There were so many good choices on the menu, but I settled on the catfish with baked beans and green beans. My daughter chose the pulled pork sandwich with fries. The portion sizes are huge, so bring your appetite or get a to- go container, which I ended up doing. My sister ordered the catfish and a side of okra and fries, and they were the size of appetizers. The fish was well seasoned. At the end of our meal, the owner, Cedric Riley, came to our table and asked us about our meal. I thought that was nice also to talk to the person in charge. Everybody mentioned how great the food was. It is tucked right between Office Max and Texas Roadhouse in East Peoria on the corner of the strip mall. If you’re looking for good food and want to try something new, stop by Smokin’ Notes BBQ. You’ll be glad you did.

Ate here for the 1st time 5/27/23, shared a slab of ribs, candy yam and French fries with my wife. Our waitress was great. Our food came quick and hot. The RIBS, our meat fell of the bone literary!! I wonted some more candy yams , they were delicious , but didn’t want to be greedy. Next time I will eat and get what I will eat

Dined in at Smokin’ Notes BBQ today with our church members from Rockford, IL. From the initial greeting to the meal, to the cleanliness of the restaurant atmosphere, to the personal care from the owners!! Top Notch service, DELICIOUS meal!!! Highly recommend stopping here if you want good sauce on ribs, that fall off the bones, the best fried okra, and catfish!! The candied yams, collard greens, and desserts of peach cobbler and excellent lemon cake!!! Guaranteed return visit whenever we come to Peoria!!

Was lucky enough to dine at this establishment a few weeks ago. The food was fantastic, and the service was top notch. Our server was vigilant and accommodating. The food was delicious. We ate the cheese fry appetizer and the fries were hot, fresh, and well-portioned. For lunch, we had grilled chicken sandwiches and a pulled pork salad. The chicken sandwich was cooked perfectly with just the right amount of grill taste. Fried okra and corn on the cob were the sides that we chose with the sandwiches. The okra was a large portion, and the breading was perfectly crispy and flavorful. The corn on the cob was great. The pulled pork on the salad was great as well!!
