Exactly what I want when I think “diner.” Not at all fancy, just great food at reasonable prices with friendly and attentive staff. The staff are genuinely nice people, and I actually have to be careful not to drink too much coffee here because they top it off so often! The customers are great too, there seems to be a great community of regulars but even for me being an interloper from out of town who only comes here every few months, I still feel welcomed. I also like that the historic decor is unspoiled, it’s like going back in time. I just love this place.

Racist vibes. I came in for some protein after the gym the initial lady I spoke to was kind but the lady I paid with not so much. I’m not sure if I was being judged for having a durag on (I just came from the gym) but she marked my $20 bill to make sure it was real (I work in customer service bills are usually bigger that we check authenticity for) but whatever, I pay, instead of handing me the money back she lays on the counter. I think it’s universally known that that is rude to do. I’m sure the food will be pretty good but if you’re black, make sure you look presentable, because you will be judged for it. Makes sense why my family hasn’t been here since I was a kid and I grew up here.

We were going there to have breakfast but I didn’t like the looks from the outside and when I went in it was way to crowded and the place is to small for the number of people in there. The food might be great, but I will probably never know since I didn’t like how it looked inside. Sorry.

Kind of your run of the mill greasy spoon Diner in terms of atmosphere. The table and Booth were clean. I had the creamed chipped beef with a poached egg and toast. The service was quick and the food average to good. For the price, certainly acceptable quality and quantity.

New ownership jacked the prices way up at this place. 2 eggs with bacon and homefries cost almost $15 when it used to be under 10. And $5 for a glass of low-grade orange juice!! Food is still good though if you don’t mind overpaying
