I really, really love this place! SO AUTHENTIC Excellent food! I’ve been to the best places in Aurora, Lisle, Downer’s Grove, Crest Hill, Joliet and Lockport. El Patron blows them all out of the water!! Excellent Spanish music, excellent vibrant decor just takes you to México! Excellent options for lent too! The shrimp cocktail is soooo good!!! This will always be my go to place when visiting family in Coal City!! Gracias El Patron!!!

It was pretty good, not my favorite Mexican restaurant, but at least top 5. Ames has 2 El Patron restaurants, and one is better then the other. I can’t remember which one is which, but food is really good, and the server that we had was over and beyond amazing. Will definitely go back, and I think everyone should try it once!

So while the service and atmosphere was nice.. Don’t be fooled by the taco tuesday deal.. Instead of 2.99 attaco it’s only 1.99 and only applies to ground beef tacos in which I was very not impressed by the Bland flavor and my tortilla just soaked wet From the ground beef fell apart as soon as I picked up to take my first bite….. And then I noticed on my receipt. They definitely make up for that dollar off by charging you for every condiment that they put on the table in which you did not have to ask for such as a couple of slices of lime – That was just brought out with our meal-$1…. Or what you would have thought is just a house bowl of salsa n chips.. i didnt ask for those…she brought them right out when we sat down! :/ & charging for the hot sauce .. So yeah that was my first time last time going there…. People must be really desperate to say they have great food.

We were the first people in the door, so we were seated and served immediately. We asked for no cheese and the fajita vegie plater. Instead of the guacamole salad, our lettuce came with sour cream. They brought sides of guacamole, but the damage was done.
