If you are seeking the best locals secret, you have found it in the delicious sandwiches and legendary Firebrand cookies. The awesome sister owners pair divide their experience between Kate’s talented cooking and Heidi’s warm greeting on the front end. So many delicious soups (Hungarian mushroom and corn chowder are my favorites) and sandwiches (love them all, especially the Surefire and the local eggs on my breakfast bagel). There is a nearby city park with plentiful seating too!

The nicest workers. The BEST Reuben I’ve had in my life. Quality meat and delicious overall sandwich. I have celiac and the worker was able to walk me through their process and ensure I had safe, not cross-contaminated food and was super friendly about it. I didn’t feel like I was a hindrance like I do some places. I will return here anytime I find myself in Gunnison.

Great food! However, ordered food for pickup and they told me it would be about 25 min, which is good! But when we went to pick it up, we had to wait an additional 30 min. at the restaurant… But they gave us a free muffin!
