I gave 5 stars to this place because their food was delicious and freah, their servers were really sweet, the atmosphere was actually fun family vibe. We had to stand outside in waiting for like 20 mins to get a table then waited a few after ordering to serve food which was understandable because they were busy. I had steak n eggs, brother had cheese burger, parents had 3 omelet with veggies and cheese and son had pancakes. We all loved out food we enjoyed every bite. Adding on to my review, we ended up going there again today because we had a good meal that we wanted to enjoy again. My husband ordered patty melt which, he said, was really good. Food was amazing however ordered a bacon cheeseburger, banana pie, curly fries, potato salad and got home with a bacon less cheeseburger! Food was really good though! But I like to get what I pay for. But on their behalf they were slammed and folks waiting out the door to get inside!

For the first time in decades of frequenting this restaurant, I actually left without receiving my food. I was not advised upon arrival that there was a 40 minute!!!! delay for food. Otherwise, I would have chosen another restaurant this morning. We usually visit this restaurant at leat 2X a month. The food is always hot, coffee fresh, the atmosphere a typical warming beach Cafe and the cost cannot be beat. Unfortunately, today was a rarity. I approached the server after waiting 30 minutes and over hearing her advised a new arriving party of 3 of the 40 minute wait. She advised me my meal would be available in minutes. 15 minutes later, with an impending appointment, I left without any food and just 2 cups of coffee. Please understand as I have stated previously, this is not the norm for this beach classic.

Great family owned diner just two blocks off the beach. Eat at the bar or at one of the picnic tables. Crab cake Benedict I recommend. I paid about $13.00 plus tip. Wait staff are eager to please.

So good. My brother and I ate here for the first time and I had the crab cakes Benedict. Amazing. Eggs perfect. Crab cakes to die for. Came out fast and the service was great. Good coffee. He liked that they had rye toast, orange marmalade and tobasco sauce. We will definitely be back.

Food is hot and consistent, they are glad to cook your way, service at counter is frustrating, it was busy but crystal did not bring my English, tried to get her attention, could not, never asked if everything ok, consistent bad service at counter for last year. Marie’s and Lisa’s tables were full, not tipping for bad service anymore, will wait for Marie or Lisa.

Waited 45mins for a table (3ppl) and food took over an hour after we ordered. They got my order wrong, over easy eggs vs over hard, grits vs home fries. The inside looks like it hasn’t been cleaned since it opened in the 80s? I think after this visit I’m done with beach hut.
