This is a hidden gem of Concord/Walnut Creek.

The tacos were very good. I’m not a big fan of peas in Spanish rice, but the rest of my dinner was great.

Came out for a meetup I was hosting with several friends and my son. My son and I ended up sharing a plate of nachos which were delicious. We also each got a bottle of jarritos. The nachos we got with steak and they were some of the best nachos I’ve had in a while. Chips were perfect, flavor was great.

Delicious mexican food Michoacan style. The owners personally take care of you. All staff is very attentive and welcoming. Great menu selections, especially the quesabirrias. There’s freshly made tortillas and you can order prepared meats to go. Servings are hearty. This place is always busy especially for dinner and breakfast. A must visit.

I’ve had their freshly made chicharron, refried beans, green salsa, and corn tortillas. Everything has been excellent! Service is quick and friendly. The seating area is pretty plain, but the food makes up for it.

I started coming here about three weeks ago but have only ordered during lunchtime when the young man works. He always makes the food very delicious. The past week I ordered twice in the afternoon/evening time from 3pm-6pm, the first time I ordered a burrito a la diabla but I got a regular burrito. The second time I ordered today, I ordered a wet burrito of shrimp a la diabla… they put sauce that had been cooked with mussels/clams – it smelled so pungent. The lady tried to tell me that’s how the chipotle smelled and I couldn’t help but laugh because I grew up cooking with chipotle and it has NEVER smelled like mussels. I was just completely disgusted by the idea of them putting sauce that was cooked with clams on a shrimp burrito and her very lame excuse. Worst burrito I have had in my life. I now know to either come here in the morning or not come at all when the lady is working there. Horrible food/service.

The food is great I love it, the service is very nice always, the only thing I didn’t like is one woman who is some times taken the orders, toching money and going to preparing food with out of whasing her hands. But beside that I like this place, thanks for your great food mercado del sol.
