Not real southern food. Coleslaw has no seasoning, just mayo and cabbage. Red beans and rice was very sub par. Fish wasn’t bad, but it was salty and not catfish. I can see why it is not a Sam’s Southern Eatery anymore. Need to pull all of their trademark stuff out before they get a bad name from this place.

I almost didn’t walk in when I saw ”Cash Only” posted everywhere. But I tried it anyway because as a tired and hungry truck driver, I was hoping for some good catfish. Well I ordered 4 pieces of catfish, fries, red beans and rice and hush puppies. I got 2 catfish fillets and 2 fish sticks that were very tough and rubbery like had been extruded from a machine . Very hard to bite. And tasted like very strong cod fish or something. The “hushpuppy” was a dinner roll or something similar of bread , not fried corn bread. I only ate it because I was tired and hungry. I don’t recommend eating here. Looks like this place is in the process of going out of business……Catfish is usually really good anywhere in Louisiana, but not here!
