The gumbo hut, exactly what we needed in our town was an authentic Cajun resturaunt! Exterior was welcoming with Fleur de lis ⚜️ and mardi gras decorations. Everything was perfectly seasoned and they put mardi gras beads in the bag! Not only does the food make me feel as if I was in Louisiana having dinner at thr bayou, it all tastes so fresh and as if the cooks took their time for perfection and did not rush it, highly highly recommend this hidden gem in our downtown!

First time ordering from here and I was completely wowed! Food was ready in about 20 minutes, everything was hot and fresh. The flavors were outstanding, exceeding expectations on all five different dishes we ordered, down to the fries. Highly recommend, especially if you don’t eat pork as they use turkey sausage in the gumbo.

We ordered from the Gumbo Hut for the first time tonight…homemade Louisiana style food…holy moly it did not disappoint! Pretty sure we ordered the whole menu….if you want super spicy and delicious – the gumbo Louisiana hot is the way to go…I’ll have it again when I’m ready to go into labor in few months the variety of sauces were amazing with the fried okra, mushrooms and hush puppies the boys had burgers and I’m guessing it was good because they disappeared pretty quick. The owner was also fabulous. It felt like we were stepping into her home – she and the other young lady were so welcoming. She gave us some bagged chips to try – lowcountry kettle. Yummy! A true taste of the south. Thank you ladies! We will be back. Go check them out y’all

Had the gumbo (of course). Very delicious, home cooked style food. Would highly recommend. At the moment they don’t have any indoor seating and are carry out only, and since it is home cooked expect to wait a while. It is totally worth it however. Only small complaint is that I wish the rice portion that comes with the meal was a little bigger (gumbo portion is good, came in what I think was a pint sized container full to the brim). There really isn’t anything like this place in Waynesboro, and it is definitely worth a visit.

Delicious! I just enjoyed the Gumbo YaYa (I ordered it hot, so it had some kick!) and the fried oysters. I ordered carryout on a Friday night, and it was ready when predicted. So excited to welcome The Gumbo Hut to our town!

This is some of the best authentic food I have ever had. Even with doordash delivery the portions are very generous. Great flavor all around the menu. Gumbo and dessert is exceptional! Highly reccomend!

The food was good, but don’t try to go inside to order. We were kicked out while waiting for our friend to meet us because the restaurant had a strict 6 person capacity, including staff. We were kicked out again after ordering and paying and had to wait for our food outside the door. Staff said it was because they had doordash orders waiting to be picked up. It seems that they prioritize doordash orders, so just order online and don’t go inside.
