We tried Loumies for the first time tonight and the smell of the food when we opened the containers transported me back to my home country. This is real food made with care by people who care about hospitality and want to take care of you. Even the exchange with the lady on the phone reminded me of home, in her genuine and friendly manner. We tried several things, the beef pie was fantastic, and so was the sumac chicken sandwich.

Love this place. The lady running the restaurant is really nice and the atmosphere evokes a warm, homey feeling that is definitely reflected in the food. I got the 7 spices chicken which lives up to the name – it’s a succulent, perfectly seasoned flavor bomb balanced by the rice. The food is filling without feeling too heavy. It’s a tad expensive, but for this quality of homestyle meal, it’s worth it.

Tried this place for the first time as we visited Ithaca for the weekend. Had the 7 spices chicken, the chicken sandwich and some beverages. The 7 spices chicken was good but did not have so much flavor as I expected I guess, the sandwich had much more flavor and was way tastier. The service was good; there is only 3 seats so it is more suitable for take out.

IF you’re ever in Ithaca, this is one of the little mom and pop restaurants I would recommend you to order from. Absolutely delicious and authentic cuisine.
