Great seafood combo special with red or white sauce. Clams, mussels, calamari, shrimp and scallops. Yummy! Egg drop soup with noodles and spinach also amazing! We’ll be back to try the prime rib soon.

We got a reservation after being recommended to eat there by a friend. It is a classic experience crossover between American fare and Italian and reminded us of eating out with our parents growing up.

Very busy but our server was doing his best. Food was spectacular. Was a little noisy, but it was a busy father’s day dinner. Only negative comment is that we paid our $86 dollar bill with a credit card and were surprised by a service charge added to our bill. Odd? Or is it me?

A few weeks ago, we visited Lake Placid for the fourth time in five years. A local told us about this restaurant, and said it was a “do not miss” for a great steak dinner. It was all that, and more! No wait time, clean facilities, relaxed atmosphere. We had caprese salad and calamari for appetizers, steak entrees for all, plus two desserts. Impeccable taste, homemade quality! We will definitely make this a staple of our future great Lake Placid area excursions.

Exceeded expectations. Everything down to the bread was great (per my family). I have a minor GF allergy and they flagged things that I wouldn’t have known would have gluten (like the au jus). Great food and huge portions. Service was attentive and friendly. Would def recommend.

5 years ago, my husband and I, together with our friends, stumbled upon the the Red Fox Restaurant while on our way back from an afternoon boat ride in Saranac. Despite our attire, they warmly welcomed us. My husband, being Italian, said that the true test of a good restaurant is their marinara sauce. Ed, the owner and our server, brought him a cup of their marinara sauce and some bread. That sealed the deal!! From that time, we have been coming back regularly when ever we are in Lake Placid. I always get their lamb chops which is always cooked and seasoned perfectly! Their broiled scallops are amazing AND, their lasagna is just luscious! They are very consistent with their good food, and last but not the least, such friendly and warm owners!

This family restaurant is fantastic, good atmosphere and vibe, clean and beautiful decorations. One day we ordered pickup a thanksgiving dinner , It was a very tasty home dinner, we decided to return the next day, to get other dishes. Their onion soup is the best I have eaten so far, we ordered fish and lasagne, everything tasted a girder, these dishes are not a breakbell, it’s simple, honest and tasty food cooked with heart and passion.

The Red Fox is a consistently positive dining experience. The employees are all stellar, friendly and knowledgeable. The drinks are made well and the food is always delicious. I love the atmosphere with the richly painted rooms, comfortable seating, plenty of space between tables, a beautiful yard and just the right amount of fox decor. This is a perfect location for a party of 2, 4 or 20!

This is the Adirondacks hidden gem. The atmosphere is so pleasant and peaceful. The attentive service is the best in the industry and Ed was amazingly honorable. The Food…..There are absolutely no human words to describe the amazing flavor of the food.

Nice atmosphere, reasonable prices, good service – and good food, with the possible exception of the scallops. My wife and I had the scallops and, while we didn’t get full-on food poisoning, our gastrointestinal systems became very active very quick and we traded places on the porcelain throne a couple of times back at the motel room. The scallops were overcooked which, in retrospect, the chef may have done on purpose in an attempt to kill off bacteria that he/she suspected might be growing on them if he/she knew they were near the end of their usable period…
