We came to Illinois for our sons navy graduation. Stopped in here for breakfast before we started our 12 hour road trip back home. The food was fantastic!!! Ms. Kathy was wonderful! The bathroom was sparkling clean and the whole place just just gave me the good feels. If we lived in this area, this place would definitely be our breakfast spot!!! Thank you Northfield restaurant for getting us to a good start and thank you Ms. Kathy for your service. Sincerely, the 4 top that sat in the big booth Sunday morning around 7am on May 21st.

The reviews did NOT live up to the expectation. Decided to give this place a go because of the great reviews it had, I called in for a to go order & was greeted by a rude host. While I was placing my order, the host started speaking to someone else on the phone, which was a bit unprofessional. Today’s order was for a “Cheese cheeseburger deluxe”, which was SUPPOSE to have been cooked well done. I was told the order would be ready in 10 minutes, once I got there (10 minutes later) I had to wait an additional 15 minutes before I received my food. I was also over charged a few dollars, so I asked for a receipt to see what had happen.. The host took a piece of paper and wrote “cheese burger” and the dollar amount. Since this was a local place, and my first time in, I didn’t let it bother me. What really bothered me, was the food. Most of the fries were either overcooked, soggy or completely burnt. The burger was a complete disappointment.. Not only was it NOT well done, it was flavorless. A very disappointing experience overall, had high expectations for the place.

Fast and tasty. The second part I expected, not the first. We had our breakfast within 6 minutes of ordering. Friend got the north field skillet and I got the Denver omelette. Something about a 3 times folded Omelette with ham off the bone…it’s nostalgic and comforting. It was a busy Saturday morning but the visit was quick and the food was great. Parking leaves something to be desired, but we figured it out. Great place.

Solid diner fare. Rueben, patty melt, gyros, meatloaf sandwich, bacon and eggs. Haven’t tried breakfast yet but I will next time. Prices are right on target, service is good. I’ve only been in near closing (3 pm) so it can be a bit slow since staff is working on end of day side work. Not a big deal for me though. Good neighborhood joint.

Have been going here for years. Went today and it was just as good as I remember. Good food, great prices, free parking, clean restaurant, and friendly staff. So glad this small business survived the pandemic. Will be back again soon to try the Strawberry shake I saw multiple people order that looked delicious.
