**cash only** Great lunch spot, also sells alcohol. Very convenient! The food is bar food, and they have a station down stairs to wash the sand off. You can eat in the shade or take it to go back to your condo/beach chair!

We stayed at sandpiper cove and loved Ricks sand trap! We had the hot dogs, fries, chicken fingers, and cheese sticks. All were really good! The drinks were great too and it’s a great view while you eat! Love this place!

We read the reviews, a lot of them said there was no public access, so we had decided not to go. However, then we saw multiple replies from the host saying how “simple it is to just walk up from the beach access”, when the reality is there is no public beach access anywhere near the bar. Wish we hadn’t been misguided. Happy to delete the review if someone explains exactly how it’s possible to access the beach nearby, cause we were there, we asked around, and we couldn’t find a way. And if it is not possible, why mislead us and waste our time? Not all bars are accessible to public and that’s fine, just make it clear please!

I expected more. The drinks are waaaay over priced and they didn’t impress me with their taste and I never felt a thing from them. On day 1 they closed at 2 in the afternoon and on day 2 they weren’t even open. It was the only place at the beach for refreshments and we were depending on this place for our drinks and food while we were there. We had to scurry about town and get supplies we needed to get by and missed half the day doing it. The beach was full so why not be open?

Visited while on vacation. The food was good for a grab and go place on the beach. The service staff was extremely nice and helpful. The key lime pie is something to try. Their location is the best thing since you don’t have to leave the beach to access it.

Convenient spot for beach goers. A good variety of beach cocktails and beer. A decent menu I would compare to a food truck. Loved that the Refreshments played through the speakers everytime we were there!

Absolutely love this place. Whenever we are staying on the beach in Destin, we make sure to take the short walk along the water to stop in for a daiquiri and a grilled fish sandwich. DONT CHANGE ANYTHING PLEASE!! Hidden gem

Very misleading. Would be nice to go to the bar, however there is zero public beach access within a decent walk of Ricks Sand Trap. Yes you can get to it from the beach, but you cannot get to the beach unless you travel far from where Rick’s Sand Trap is.
