I was super excited that they reopened. I always loved this place to eat in, order out or for catering a party at home. This was my first time in since they reopened and I miss the salad with home made dressing, bread, great service and the old school feel. The service, drinks and food were fine but it’s not how it was and not in a good way. I wouldn’t deter someone from eating here but wouldn’t recommend it either anymore. It’s a fine place just not for me since I prefer the old restaurant. I wish them the best though.

I had a very pleasant experience. The waitress Cindy and also one of the Main Hostesses made sure our experience was perfect. I have never been to a restaurant that made sure we were satisfied with everything. They went above and beyond to make sure we were pleased with our meal. The food was really good, atmosphere was lively and service was beyond my expectations!! Thank you to all that assisted and waited on us. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone!!

It’s a busy big place, kinda family style. Greeting, seating and service was excellent. I gave food a 4 because it was good, but not something out of the ordinary. Drinks were average. I had fettuccine with Parmesan sauce, asked to be light on the sauce, but it was buried with sauce. My husband really enjoy chicken piccata.

This is a takeout review. All food is eaten promptly in the vehicle. I had garlic bread, meatballs, and Chicken Leonardo. The garlic bread was nicely done, very saturated with the garlic butter. The meatballs were large and very packed. They had nice flavor from the marinara but were quite rubbery to chew. The chicken dish was extremely tasty with a nice touch of heat. I thoroughly enjoyed it. On a scale from 0-10 I would rate this 8.2.

I was so looking forward to the return of Luigi. It was a mainstay for me for years. Very friendly staff and good secondary food. Never in love with pizza there but that’s ok. My main dishes were a large dinner salad—- now on a plate instead of the great salad bowl they had eggplant parm sub the soup and steamers with pasta.

Dined on a Thursday night…first time visiting since the re-opening. The place is beautifully renovated! We had soup and shrimp cocktail for apps. Both perfect and spot on in preparation. We ordered a large pizza and it was beyond delicious. The crust is amazing! Best part was the new raspberry almond torte for dessert. It was served warm with ice cream. This was our first visit to Luigi’s even though it’s been in Old Saybrook for 30 years. We sat at the bar and were pleasantly surprised at the cocktail selection. The menu is expansive and we talked to some locals which dine in on a regular basis. The atmosphere is cozy and they had live music too. Definitely a keeper. Great bartender too

Driven by many times but never knew if it was handicap accessible..Decided let’s just try it. So glad we did. There are three options for seating. Outside,bar,and dining area. We chose dining area. Was seated. Menu had lots of options. I chose Chicken Piccata and my boyfriend chose a 6 cheese pasta dish. Waitress was very engaging and catering. We really enjoyed our food and the entire experience. Meals came with vegetables. Soup or salad and bread. Very warm crusty Italian bread. Super yummy. Great night. Everyone from beginning to end was fantastic. As we left the hostess asked how we liked our meals and opened the door for us. Its the little things that make you feel so welcome. Totally a redo place
